Well done on the decluttering.
On the heating - I feel your pain. Have you managed to build up some credit ready for winter?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks SH
Still got more decluttering to do as stuff is piling up. Provided things look normal for the holidays I'll be happy.
I've got £215, a mix of the g0v payments and the round ups I've been doing. I'm hoping not to touch it and keep letting it build up. I've earmarked £200 for this month's bill 😐 and have the heating on for about 3h; 15 minutes almost hourly and a couple of 30 mins in the evening.
Whatever is surplus after doing the holiday special meals shop I'll send it to the utilities.
TomBo put another duvet on the bed, so that's nice and snuggly. I'm still in PJs, dressing gown, slipper socks, slipper boots, blanket and hot water bottle in the day.
It's going to drop to -5° in a few hours.
We're having pork chops and rice for tea. I've got my feet up and snuggled on my chair.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
Glad you have £ for heating. Extra duvets help too.
Enjoy your tea. Mine is still cooking...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I'll also have my extended hours pay which will help cover the bill.

Thanks Skinty and Chrystal
They've left a big hole in many of our lives. We're all doing what we can to help their partner with associated costs.
As you may have gathered my friends are my family, compared to blood relatives.
Cake day didn't go as I hoped, however I did get a cuddly toy; b-by gr00t, bigger than my other one and we sit snuggled under the blanket watching TV. My other gift was a St-r Tr3k dressing gown, complete with beam me up badge which is pretty cool; not warm enough for this weather!
I cleaned a few of the lounge windows yesterday, will try and get the others done round the flat the rest of this week and do a little more decluttering. Then I can get a few decorations up.
Cat did a proper burp yesterday which made me giggle. I attempted to blame TomBo for teaching her that until I did one in the evening and accepted full responsibility 🙈
I'm having the heating on for a few hours this morning as there's inches of frost, however I've turned the heat button down to halfway on the boiler. I'll check the meter later to see how many units I've used as I checked yesterday to get a rough idea how much this month will cost (£115 for gas alone, electric is pretty much the same all year round). There should be sunshine today, which will naturally warm the flat and the heating will be off at that point.
Better crack on as it's a busy one again today.

The old saying about you can't choose your family, but you do choose your friends is so true, and it['s great that you're able to help each other.
I think you're doing fantastically well to be using less than £4 a day for gas! I guess you're doing the sensible thing and heating the person rather than the room(((hugs))) xx
