You have to think of yourself and your health now, while you are able to still physically do things. It’s good to consider why you may need to move.

Things like less stairs, walk in shower (rather than climb over the side of the bath), park outside so less of a struggle to get self & shopping inside. Thankfully you have Tombo to help with household maintenance, chores, gardening & grass cutting & carrying shopping indoors. However it sounds like you still try to do much of it yourself so make sure you don’t overdo it this weekend & get some rest!

    I agree with @Skint_yet_Again

I like the boards. I saw them in a holiday cottage and they look so practical.

    Thanks Skinty and SH

I deliberately picked a flat which was almost future-proofed.

There's less steps to get to my flat, than in a house to get upstairs, plus there's a 'landing' so not a consistent straight up / down.
No bath here as I had a fall getting out at the last rental, only a double-sized shower.
The lawn was the first thing to go, it's the neighbours who have them.
I can, and have, parked next door, drop the shopping into the communal area, moved my car to where I usually park it and then took the bags upstairs.
DIY is mainly me, if I had better ladders it would be easier. I'm still thinking about pulling the fridge out to repaint what TomBo did.
Cleaning and tidying I do it better and more frequently.

TomBo tells me to sit down, leave it, put things down when I'm moving stuff etc which is why I did most of the painting while he was out.

I'll always overdo things as I want them done right, not half done. It's our home, but if we do move I don't want to have to rush around correcting and redoing things.

Today I've done some weeding, transplanted a random strawberry, found another and left it, sowed beetroot, kale and spinach. TomBo has set up the frame for my peas, moved compost and done some weeding.

Had the home insurance renewal quote come through, increased from last year and I did a comparison quote. Saved £70 with my new insurer, could have saved £100 but I had legal protection; paid in full.
    - Rung the old insurer to not renew and they offered to see if they could reduce the quote, told them they should sent me their best price originally.

We had fishcakes sandwiches for lunch.

And we've had another gardening session.
TomBo has built a compost bin in the borrowed garden, I've planted more shop spuds and watered.
Then moved on to ours and weeded in the rose garden, transplanted another couple of strawberries, sowed my first lot of peas and beans, did a bit of watering then had a look around and smiled.
    - depending on the weather tomorrow, I could do with tidying and weeding the patio as I will be using it this year!

I've emailed to see where I am on the allotment waiting list (another reason for staying here as it's walking distance for me), had another vanilla latte, got my feet up feeling refreshed but mentally and physically tired.

I have enjoyed having two days off this week, felt like I could achieve things in my free time and I made good use of it 😃

We are having chicken, salad, feta and mole sauce* wraps for tea. I'll have raspberry ripple and TomBo is having strawberry ice cream for pudding.

*Cocoa, chilli no moles in sight.

Well done on the insurance and the gardening. Good luck with the allotment. Will be great if/when you get it.

    Thanks SH

The insurance is slightly better than I've had the last 2 years and it felt good having the money in the bank to pay it. I've a couple of months to top up the 'car everything' pot in readiness for my MOT.

I'm happily waiting, my name will get to the top of the allotment list at some point or I'll transfer to a different list if we move and I want more growing space.

I am using a hole making tool for a lot of what I do, or a trowel, sowing a bit at a time and not thinking I've got to get everything in now. The hardest part is watering as I have to reach into bins to fill my water cans.

Must dye my hair, brows and lashes tomorrow 😃

    Enjoy your pampering session.

I got as far as getting some seed trays out the shed... Not put any soil or seed in them yet...

    Hello,

Good you have the money to pay the insurance and planning in advance for the Mot... Must be lovely to be ontop of it 🙂

    The allotment sounds good.

    Thank you SH and LW2G

When you put the kettle on tomorrow grab the compost, next time you put the kettle on sow a few seeds, your future self with appreciate it.

It definitely feels good paying annual bills in full as they pop up. I'm saving each month for them, the surplus will build up over several years and pay for my next car.

One regular saver matures in a few weeks, I can then open another and see if I can fill it this year.

I'm looking forward to my BH day off 😃

Today I've pushed the boat out and stayed in, mainly with my feet up.

I have done my hair, brows, lashes, shaved my legs, had a long shower to wash the dye out and used my San Spa products. Even had a compliment from TomBo!

Another tomato seedling has popped up, the chillies are still popping up. When they're bigger all will be transplanted and moved to various windows, some will be shared.

We had soup, with chilli and cheese bread for tea.
