Glad both your jobs have been supportive over funeral etc. It's a lot to deal with. Be gentle with yourself. Take time to rest or pamper or do whatever you fancy.
I like the view from the window as a farewell 🐱Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Skinty and for pointing out your previous post.
I've cut out so many extras to bring the cost down to what my mom has in the bank; I'm having doubts I will be able to stand up and speak on the day and I'm thinking the celebrant cost would be worth it.
- I'm honestly surprised she had managed to save a bit and it must have taken her ages.
I'll be grabbing flowers and paying for other things. At best there will be about 6 of us attending, maybe a few nibbles back at the house after.
I am expecting to break at some point, it's just a matter of when. I've been pushing hard, under a load of stress and now this. Or maybe true reliance will step in and I'll be fine.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Thanks SH, sorry I missed yours when I last posted.
I wouldn't say the current one was supportive. I had near identical emails when I told them, to the ones they sent when I resigned 🤣
The view did feel like a goodbye or maybe my interpretation, but it helped.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
I'm honestly not sure what I should be writing as it's morbid reading the last few days!
Things are underway with mom, we'll know more next week.
I'll be selecting options the weekend. My head is a little more clearer and able to focus on what to have. I wonder if I'm allowed to pick a song, that will be funny as I'd naturally opt for an uplifting one from Elv1s as she loved him.
Sibling is gaining a little independence. I'm talking them through everything, but their doing it and adamant their doing it. It's a little positive step from what's happened. I'm feeling more at ease they will be ok long-term.
The normal side of my day so far has been paying my CC off in full, paying a bit off the CF and mortgage.
Checked emails, forwarded some and had been sent a thank you / leaving voucher, with comments saying they'd personally paid for it. I've looked on m&$ and haven't spotted anything, might pop in if TomBo will drive me the weekend, I could get my brows threaded too as it's in the same shopping centre.
My weight is now 13st 8, not great for my height, but slowly getting closer to where I want it to be.

Things will be unsettled for a while. I am glad your sibling is managing & taking positive steps. You can have a celebration of life service and pick whatever songs you want. Who says they can’t be cheerful and uplifting. 😊Hope you treat yourself to something nice with the vouchers0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

I am glad that old work is dealt with now. At Steve's funeral he chose Alway's Look on the Bright Side of Life to cheer us all up. It worked. Elvis is marvellous i think it will be a good touch.Aiming for a minimal spend 20222

Thanks Skinty and SW
I'll have to look into whether I'm allowed music within the package as it's a basic one with no options.
I had Hound Dog pop in my head when I wondered if it was allowed, but I'll give it some proper thought when I know if I can pick.
I've switched around conversation with sibling throughout the day, that way we're not just constantly talking about the situation. We're laughing, joking and swapping tails about our four legged furry ones.
We had chicken a veg pies for tea, cat had some of the chicken, peas, carrots and gravy; they have a lot less taste buds than humans and she does like sampling different things.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Sounds like you are doing well all things considered. Good they sent you the voucher from your old work. I would have whatever songs you want...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I've had a few 'signs', namely full red skies but lighter, none last night.
Yesterday I was drawn to the kitchen window and there was a break in the clouds, blue with the yellow / orange sun in it. The formation was like an eye and I watched as the clouds slowly joined as the 'eye' closed.
Whatever is after life, if anything, my mom is definitely there, that much I feel and I know she's ok.
Today I'm going to walk round the garden and get a little air.
TomBo is doing housey stuff and got grumped at by cat, due to emptying her litter tray 🙀Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1
