  • I've a great chippy SH, food is consistently good. I had savaloy with my chips, first time up here, and my goodness was it smoked compared to what I'd previously had!

Today we're getting TomBo's new glasses, taking garden greens to SIL for furballs and popping to A1DI for the shopping.

As it's supposed to rain all day, I'll sort some of my clothes out and read. No gardening, but I can split the garlic bulbs ready for tomorrow.

Picked some more dried runners and grabbed some lovely beets.

I've also made a decision not to go swimming this weekend (1) If I want self-sufficiency to work for me next year, I have to prioritise it, (2) there's only onions and garlic to go in, but they're a big part of our daily food, (3) that bit of money saved can go towards my budget, to comfortably get me through to December wages, without dipping into normal savings; I've moved it to the pot.

I plan on prioritising self-sufficiency next year (best as I can with my garden), me time / health and work will fund my dreams 🤗

I have caught up after a mad week at work. Glad you are nearly moving - i do feel sorry that you had to do so much explaining. I dont think that person will stay either. I cannot believe you have gardened and done all the beauty stuff with all the extra hours at work. Hurrah for all your swimming and Tombo's job. I'd kill for some chips but it involves walking in the chilly weather so i havent yet!!!

    Have a great weekend.

    Thanks Skinty, SW and SH

Savaloy is the red sausage, normally lightly smoked. Each bite was like a bonfire!

I really am wiped out and don't know how I've kept going for over a year, over 2 years if I count my original one.

It's very windy, but so far dry. Hopefully I can get some gardening done today. I want to get these onions and garlic in, after that it's just harvesting veg as and when required until the new growing season.

Yesterday I started up my surveys again, made £5 already.  Not bad for a couple of hours sitting on the sofa.

A dream I had the other night was me standing in the kitchen door way, admiring how it looked after painting. Nice turquoise units, patterned lino and the tiles painted to blend in with the wall.

At the moment, I have to mentally force myself, or set a day when I will do even simple things like have a shower or go to the butcher. I'm hoping my new role with normal hours, means less tiredness, providing more energy to do everyday things.

Not long until I leave and get a much needed break.

Keep going MF, you are so so close now. The self sufficient goal sounds really good. Can I ask which survey sites you use pls?

I've wanted self-sufficiency for so many years and know I'll still have to work while doing it. I couldn't attain full freedom unless I won the PBs and purchased a smallholding 😀

Only valued o, got fed up with others and didn't 'make' anywhere near what I can with VO. I get useful vouchers when I cash the points in.

Splitting the garlic as I'm gardening at 10am, TomBo wanted me to wait until this afternoon, but I'm running out of energy sat on the sofa.

    Garlic and onions are in!

I've gone through three if the cube sections, more has gone to the charity pile compared to what I've placed in the wardrobe. I've been ruthless as I'm mindful of space and also being true to myself as the stuff just isn't me.
    - Another three sections to do, but I've run out of steam. It's my cardigans and tops left.

I've swapped my hangers for smaller ones, the doors now close properly and I've some spares.

Once I've sorted through everything I can then properly organise it all. The creative room currently looks a mess 😟

Did find a brand new swimming costume, giving it to SIL.
    - It's so bad I'm still finding clothes with labels on 🙈

Had a bit of a tidy up and swept the lounge floor.

TomBo has batch cooked: beef and mushrooms, chicken and barley, chicken wraps. He will do a parsley pesto on the night we have it.

Having roast pork and veg for tea 😀
