Thanks SH I am too.
I'm definitely more settled now, which is also why I've got more focus, able to pull thoughts together and see it's the right thing for me.
At the moment I'm juggling affordability numbers to fund the course in the short-term. Spreading it over 2 years brings the payment down to under £70pm, until the RS matures and pays the remainder off.
It would be running alongside my CF, which I'm also planning to clear in the same timeframe.
Together the balances would stand at less than I currently have in savings across all the pots.
I just have to make sure I can make my monthly outgoings work eg savings and O/Ps on everything, based on my current salary.
Then work out the minimum salary I can take when applying for the roles just in case the car and course are not fully paid off at that point.
Talk about being prepared 😃Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -

A great set of numbers for September.
Plans look well advanced.
I take it you'll have finished the course and be in a new role in under 2 years? If it's not adding up, compound it!3 -
Thanks JSP and Grogged
There's nothing stopping me applying now. I've also got the option of dropping down a few levels, to gain more experience a different way, bag the qualification then attempt to work my way up in the same company or apply to others.
As it stands today, there's three different ways I can approach this and I know how lucky I am compared to others:
1. CV goes to agencies, I could secure the sideways entry, probably this year.
2. CV goes to agencies and direct, that could see me in an assistant role within 6 months.
3. CV goes to agencies and direct, could see me back in a full independent role within 2 years, especially with the qualification.
The downsides to option 1 are:
a. There's no internal opportunity because I'm seen as only being at that level.
b. I end up being an assistant, but not getting the salary to go with it.
I've experienced both and the only alternative is to go to another company, which is a shame if I like the one I'm working in.
Anyhow, my CV is open, it's time to update and start emailing it.
It's the first day of the rest of my life 😃Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.5 -
I felt relief washing over me as I started updating my CV, I'm moving on!
Took a while, but I'm happy with how it reads, I've updated my agency profiles and already applied for two roles.
I had a very brief catch up with an independent agency, who I absolutely trust and has fantastic contacts in companies. My CV and experience is solid, even with the career break work.
- She doesn't BS people and had me rewriting my CV a few times before I moved up here just to apply for one particular role! (I did get it)
My CV is going in for consideration with a company she's currently in talks with and we're having a proper catch up next week.
- this is scary and exciting as it's a big one to get a foot in the door with and could set me up for the remainder of my working life, but have to see what happens.
Clothes wise I need a couple of nice suit jackets and am attempting to acquire a couple of pairs of shoes with kitten heels.
- sounds a lot of effort, but first impressions make or break city interviews, local ones are more relaxed.
I think there's a pleasant weekend I'm about to embrace 😊

I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy3 -
Thank you Skinty, RL and Chrystal
I've been trying my hardest to keep positive while posting, but obviously you saw through what I said, or didn't say.
Should I have listened instead of suppressing? Maybe, but I wouldn't be where I am now and buying a home was my priority.
It's time to look after myself as I'm continually ill with stomach issues and sniffles.
I have done a quick calculation and can afford to drop down by about £2.5k and still receive the same take-home pay; I can drop further for the right role and prospects.
As I need to buy a few expensive looking items, I have earmarked £100 to pay for them 😊
I've ordered a pair of designer kitten heel shoes, should arrive by Friday (RRP is over £100, I paid £7.49, got to love old season classic items for a bargain!), I have had their brand before. They are just for slipping on for interviews and appointments, I'll be in flats around the office, trainers for the commute.
Next on my list is a suit jacket or two. Depending on how I am tomorrow I might try a couple of charity shops and see if TomBo will take me to TK. I know 3bay would be a winner, but I'm cautious about clothes sizes.
We've been for a drive today and picked up handmade ice cream, also a selection of meats from their deli counter; had some for tea.
