    Thanks Skinty and RL

I've just had enough. I'm exhausted. Multitasking but with unrealistic expectations and demands. I'm tempted to send an email and say forget it, I'll stick with my original low paid role.

The scary thing is if I strip out the work I won't be doing if I'm regraded, what's left is a 2 person job. The bits I'm doing of the proposed other persons job isn't much and if I knew how to do it wouldn't take long at all. My proposed role is going to be full on, demanding and very stressful.

It won't surprise you to know I've been ill for the last couple of days.

Sorry to hear how badly it’s affecting you. If you are serious about turning down the regrade let them know sooner rather than later. If it is full on, demanding and stressful is it worth the extra they are paying? Take care of yourself hope you feel better soon

Please rest. I am taking tomorrow off as feel so exhausted too. Think about what Skinty said this weekend and hopefully you will see how you feel then. I am so sorry.

That's a good idea. A long weekend or week off will help you to get some 'me' time and think. They wont say no as they are grateful for what you do it sounds so hard. Im taking a few days off as so tired.

    Thanks Skinty, SH and SW.

It's just frustration. Thanks to my ex-boss I was never taught to do my own role, therefore self-taught that. Having to do the same with the new aspects as there's no training for basics only high-level, which is great for when I move on. People are latching on to my name and sending stuff for me to do thinking I know how to do it and the new head boss thinks I know more than I do (I'm finding it embarrassing having to say sorry mate, I don't know I'm looking into it). It all places a lot of demand on my time, plus there's the time-heavy preparation work I'm having to do for my normal role.
Again, it won't be any surprise I'm working til bedtime and my long weekends, off and on to keep on top. I've made up my mind to stop that.

A lot of it is me as I don't like carrying work forward to the next day or week.
After being in post this long should know how to do it, that's a reflection on the business and not me.
At the same time I'm thinking about how the roles were, how the other one is stripped right back, all of that stripped back work is coming my way and how involved it is. It's not a case of thinking all this will be done by the end of the year, if I'm lucky it would be 10 years then just ongoing as and when.

I do have enough holiday to take over a week off and continue with my long weekends. Downside is there's no one to cover my work and I dread to think what I would return to. It's odd not having back up people and the work is always last minute to deal with when it lands on my desk.

To top it all off, if I'm lucky, there will be 1 day a week I can WFH.

On paper, I'm focusing on the long-term benefits eg the better CV and more doors it will open. In reality I want out and that will come when I've remortgaged.

Nearly every day I'm being contacted to revert to my former career, it's not a sensible solution for health reasons but at least I would know how to do the job lol.

TomBo wants me to have a few months off between jobs, I've told him at best it will be a week or 2 as I will need one waiting for me.
    - he seems to have accepted I will carry on working since I told him the plan for clearing the mortgage, how much money we will need each month at that point and me working PT to cover it.

Everything will work itself out, that much I do know 😊

Today is a garden day. Weather is glorious and I'm currently letting my sausage and egg rolls settle before carrying on.

So far I've planted out 2 toms, a mass of borlotto beans, some runners and 1 melon.

As I doubt any of us would ever see melon plants here it is:

I've another 4 inside. I will slowly get them out and learn more each time; looks like a great snack for slugs 🙈

It's hard to believe I've started to get my windows back inside and there's only 1 Tom plant left to get out; most of them outside have started to get flowers on.

Soon it's time to harvest my onions and garlic, then I can fill the spaces with more greens. As the existing greens are eaten I can get begin preparing the space for onions and garlic, ready for later in the year and sow quick growing things.

Your plants look brilliant. Work sounds like a nightmare. I am so sorry. All you can do is your best and you are. I think at the moment it is harder as you are juggling two jobs eventually you will be able to decide which bits can be left till later. I do hope you can rest this weekend.
