Loving the gardening chat. It is so MSE too as I seem to spend a fortune on fruits and veggies especially during the summer and none of your s will have nasties sprayed on them. Fab :)

Thanks DIA, this is so true. Even our plant feed will be natural this year, made of nettles and comfrey.

Saw No2 on the way out today. He handed a card over with too much money in it as a thank you; we are using half on us and the other on his garden.  We popped to a nursery, picked some plants up and will get more plants and some beer for him later this month.
    - I picked up a small bay tree bush for us, just have to decide the best place for it.

I got some more compost from A1DI while out and it then snowed as we sat down for lunch at home!

Just about to start shredding garden waste, TomBo got a huge extension lead which should make it from the flat, out the window and partway down the communal path. The waste will then get put over the communal path to suppress weeds.
    - we're still trying to make do and reuse 😃

Hope you're all having as much fun as me!

That's lovely that the neighbour was so appreciative of the gardening work.
Make do and reuse is always good

Thanks DIA. Had a natter with the neighbour as he did his washing up, said we were grateful but he shouldn't have, was told to treat ourselves. We're still splitting it 50/50 with buying his plants and whatever we want.
    - I'm using my car pot card when buying the plants, making a note to repay payday and taking some of the gift in return when using it; I can use cash at my butchers when I pop in next month.

Been in the garden twice today, tidying up a bit more as TomBo did some on No1, No2 and No3. All garden waste bins are full and he's now on about taking some to the tip.

TomBo has also prepared the pea and bean section, I just need all my seeds to sprout and become little plants by the end of next month as that's when I want to plant them.

I've created a raised bed from things that came with the garden / flat, my salad leaves are sown.

Can't remember if I said, but my carrots and parsnips have started to sprout, the only thing I'm waiting to pop up are leeks and some herbs I sowed for SIL.

    Having bolognese for tea.

£36 in the bank, £2 is bank fee, £20 in my purse and 17 days until payday.

Thanks LW2G and Skinty, it was a very productive day and I sat on the sofa feeling very smug last night.
There's still loads to do, as expected, but if I can keep going and chip away at it, then that's a good thing.
    - I'm using gardening as the exercise side of my diet and a way of getting fresh air.

I'm also starting to think of ideas and structures for next year 😃

TomBo was in No2's garden most of today, shredding branches. He's also managed to fill several garden waste bins ready for tomorrow.

I took a very late break and did my daily gardening, glad I did as I wasn't up for it when I finished for the day. I do need some proper time off.

TomBo also baked a loaf of bread, crusty and very tasty.

We had kebab for tea, my treat.
