Thanks SH and LW2G
It's only CT I have as instalments, although I'm tempted to work towards paying that annually instead of 10 months. Something to think about when I work PT.
- I put money each month into savings to cover annual bills and expenses.
- Gas, electric, phone etc are monthly bills.
It's a lovely blue sky today, wind has calmed and I will be outside this weekend. Planning to finish tidying the patio and sow some flower seeds by the old stone wall. I will also sow some more veg seeds and get another lot of spuds in.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
Yay to the new seeds. I love seeds, so hopeful
As CT is a substantial amount I would also like to work towards being able to pay it as an annual bill.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks DIA Seeds / the garden seem to be my go to place for spending my pocket money.
CT is my highest annual bill, but it does include water charges up here.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
Melon seeds? Did you say melon seeds????? I thought they only grew in India and Africa??? Holy moly.
I have never even thought to pay off council tax in one go. It is almost £2000!!!! A great thing if you can do it. Rather than giving the council my money early i would much rather save bits even if interest is pants at the mo.Aiming for a minimal spend 20222 -
Thanks SWApparently the seeds I have are suitable for UK weather. I've a very hot and sunny patio space earmarked for them.
TomBo has made a 'container' for the leaf mulch, he also managed to burn 3 builders sacks of tree waste; loads more to do.
I did potter around the garden after I finished today, when I got back upstairs it started snowing again.
My tax code updated the day after submitting WAH relief. That plus the personal allowance increase will provide an extra few pounds for savings each month.
I'm still doing both roles for the foreseeable future, I've also been asked to start the ad hoc role again.
The weekend plan is to finish clearing the patio and prepare the section for flower seeds.
Had chippy night, followed by a strawberry pie and cream.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
Are they paying any extra for the ad hoc role ? If not it seems very unfair
Chippy night followed by strawberry pie & cream sounds 😋 are you growing your own strawberries this year?

Thanks Skinty, I was in discussion with one of the committee however before it was finalised I began WAH, although an hourly rate was agreed. It's also very unfair with me covering the two roles for no extra, but no-one cares or notices.
I've got my strawberries on the go and have more seeds if I can find another tub. A lot depends on space in my fruit section as it's all growing fast!
I appear to have tomato seeds popping up daily, this should provide enough for pasta, pizza and anything else tomato based. Hopefully my pea and bean seeds will start sprouting soon.
Forgot to say yesterday. I called the home insurer and got 10% knocked off the renewal price, they take that at the end of the month and that will reduce my car everything and home insurance pot.
It's a lovely blue sky, I've had my coffee and will get outside soon.

Enjoy your day in the garden. I don't have much of a garden but am starting to feel I should try to get involved. Do I need much space for growing tomatoes and cucumbers?

@longway2go not much space is required, they kind of grow upwards, can be nipped to stop spreading too wide and can be tied to fences and things. Venture into the gardening section as there's a pinned post for growing this year, we all chip in with what we are doing, how we are doing it and if anyone is stuck we provide advice 😃Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3
