Thanks SW, I got slipped some chocolate and SIL enjoyed her gifts.
It hasn't rained and I popped to the garden when we returned. Most of my tulips have popped up, more cauli seeds have sprouted but no signs of spinach yet. Garlic is looking very healthy and some of the new onion sets are growing.
This week I will be finishing the front door and gardening. I think it's best to save the DIY for the wet days and get outside during the nice days 😃Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -

It's supposed to be nice from tomorrow Skinty.
Was awake until gone 4am this morning, TomBo got up just after 5 😐 I'm extremely tired now, as to be expected. Thankfully it's a mega long weekend after tomorrow.
Had the mortgage statement arrive today, wasn't expecting it until we'd been here a year. Owe slightly more than expected, but it's because they don't allocate O/Ps until my contractual payment is in. I'm now making the O/Ps when I get paid instead of the 1st of each month.
- I sent the payment over today which makes it £200 O/P this month!
I sent a stern email to the utility company yesterday, with a copy of the national databases record, copy of my account showing the meter number and another photo of my meter with the number. Helpfully pointed out the database and their record has the same full number, which they said they don't use, but they don't match the number on my meter. Told them to update their records and the national database. Just received an email saying they are doing it 😲
- over 10 months and so many emails.
Can start the April saving tomorrow.
Being posh and having venison sausage tomato casserole with pasta for tea 😁

Excellent overpayment! Well done on the response with the utility company. I was up for most of the night too. It's just a weird time. I hope you have a better night tonight. Venison sausage casserole sounds rather brill.Aiming for a minimal spend 20223

Thank you SW, the casserole was good, very filling too.
It's a lovely blue sky and TomBo is in the garden. If it stays like this when I finish I'm popping out. Postman has just delivered my seeds.
I've adjusted my figures and can increase my O/Ps by 50% from new payday. When I get the little payrise later in the year I can adjust the SIPP DD up 10%, the rest will go into savings. My DB pension will automatically take some of the payrise before it gets paid to me.
Doesn't look like I will be in the office before summer, aside from the occasional day here and there like I've been doing. I'm saving the commute money while I can.
Moved money to savings and early retirement today. Will filter more as the month goes on.
£150 in the bank, £2 is bank fee, 26 days til payday.
I really have nailed this budgeting, planning and saving malarkey 😃Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.6 -
You have totally nailed it! Well done on the overpayment3

Well done on your budgeting and saving.
Tulips and garlic too...I can but dream. If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks RL and DIAYour time will come!
Was up at 2am, woke as I was being sick. Hadn't eaten anything different to normal yesterday and generally feel as fine as I usually do.
Been doing my neighbours garden today, removing the ivy off the old wall. Yanked my back and hips within a few minutes of starting, but it's to be expected. TomBo is trimming a hedge which was left to its own devices 😐
Loads more to do but we stopped for rowies / butteries and coffee, pudding was meds 🤣
-- getting ideas about what to grow in his garden now I can see what space is available; neighbour gave us free run to do what we like to make it a nice space for him.
This afternoon I'm hoping to clear most of the ivy and then potter in mine, got more spuds to plant.
I've had confirmation I'm number 51 on the allotment waiting list. They've offered to move me to a different site waiting list, but I declined as this one is a few doors away 🤭 seems like it will fall in nicely with my 10 year plan.
In other exciting news I've just hit £5k savings (communal, home and EFs), not including car, early retirement and retirement savings.
Having homemade pizza tonight.
- I know it's a high cal day, but with everything I'm doing it shouldn't stick on my hips 😉Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
Sorry to hear you have been unwell 🤮 Hope your hips & back don’t protest too much tonight & tomorrow. Great news about the savings. Let’s hope you don’t have to wait too long for the allotment 🤞0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
