SH, you will get some freedom soon, then I will be envious about your trips and weekends away.
We only go within our county, but have the 'countryside' at the end of the road, a beach maybe 10 minutes away, or a few minutes by boat. There are a lot of places we can get to from here, but also loads to see locally.
Thanks LWTG, he was a chef, many years ago, and is having a great time baking bread. I just let him get on with it. Occasionally I ask what he's upto, get a sarcastic comment about making bread, so I laugh and get back to whatever I was doing.
Today's loaf I would have to describe as a crumpet bread.
- The crust was the same as the sides / base of a crumpet, the inside was the same as the top / inside of a crumpet. Had a slice handed to me, still warm, with 0rkn3y butter.
I know how lucky and fortunate we are.
15 minutes before I was due to finish, I had a stack of urgent work emailed, ended up finishing late.
- on a side note, I may have enough holiday to only work 4 days a week for the rest of this year 😯
We may not be going out tomorrow, there's a lot of ice forming. TomBo can bake and play games, I can have a pamper day, take photos and start my painting.
It was chicken wings for tea, pudding was chocolate. I've put a request in for bolognese tomorrow.

Utilities say they've unraveled the mix up, removed the previous tenant and noted he doesn't live here. I don't believe them and expect another letter to arrive for him.
They've applied the credit to my account and also said the meter numbers are correct with the national databases.
- I've copied and pasted their exact wording, sent it to the other company, asked them to double check and start to move me over if possible!
Trying to keep anything to do with the utilities as a standalone post. It's annoying and frustrating, feels like it stops the happiness and progress of my usual updatesMortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
Enjoyed my lie in today, got up at 10.30 and felt rested.
We popped to T and ended up with a trolley full of beer, whiskey, general food and a load of baking products; I'm also starting to bake biscuits again.
- TomBo received his outstanding holiday pay and covered the shopping, I filled the car up. He isn't as frugal as I am with buying 'basic' labels. I may have to do a shopping trip on my own, just to prove the point that if we have 'basics' for a lot, that frees up money to pay for 'treats'
I did say to him if he wants to be a home-husband, I'm happy for him to do so and money is fine for our needs. He is considering it but also wants to take a job if something jumps out as potentially a good one. I'll revisit it in 6 months.
CC minimum payment came out today, the remainder will be cleared when I get paid.
Moved some money to savings.
£25 in the bank, £2 allocated for bank fee. 14 days until payday.

Fingers crossed that utilities are sorted & your switch goes through ok.It will be great if tombo can get on board with down shifting brands as many value brands are supposed to be the same stuff in same tins with different labels. Thank you Skinty.
With the non-labels (nl's), a lot has changed over the years, they've improved and taste good.
Most of our shopping is nl's, but there's only a few things TomBo won't swap eg coffee.
Part (all) of the problem is his anxiety and panic attacks being round people. Which means he wants to get in, grab the shopping and get out again. I've offered to do it alone and call him to get it from the car, he doesn't want that.Yesterday I spotted the 17p fizzy water after the 50p bottle was put in the trolley, TomBo didn't want me to swap and said it didn't matter. My logic is I can buy 2 of the 17p bottles for the price of the other. However, if I buy a non-label brand, say I like it, he then grabs it next time. Which is why I think it's more anxiety based than a label thing.
I'm trying to explain to him that buying the cheapest nl frees up money to have a T-bone or a big joint of lamb, not just a steak or lamb cubes.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
I think some people believe there is one right answer and it stays fixed and - the anxiety comes from an inability to flex and adapt.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
