Thank you SH, I do feel alive when I'm pottering around it. This year I will get seating sorted out to take advantage of the sun.
What I must do is find some dedicated winter gardening clothes, then I can be in it almost year round. Maybe thermals and ski gear or a water heated / circulating jumpsuit 🤭Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -

Sorry to hear about the broken nail, sounds painful.
Great use of survey points and nice to look forward to time in the garden again.
Please to hear your pain meds are being sorted.

Thanks Atrixa!
I've tried to get a head start on you with the DIY. The draft excluder is down one wall/floor section and I got most of the excess paint off the glass on the lounge door.
I'm thinking with the DIY to break the year up into quarters. The first quarter is doing the hall/ porch and finishing the couple of bits in the lounge. This way I can pace myself and spread costs over a few paydays 😊
DIY plans for Jan - MarHall / porch:
- paint upper walls / ceiling- paint lower walls (£20)
- put a few coats of gloss on the woodwork (£8)
- fit hooks and hang new shades (£1.00)- replace all door handles (£70)
Lounge:
- drill out / fit unit handle- fit remaining draft excluder
- replace window frame seals (£10)
-- I will be doing all the windows in the flat
Makes it sound so easy 🤫Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -

Haha SH, maybe I could click my fingers or wiggle my nose and it's done!
I'm going to do a proper colour scheme in the bedrooms, bathroom and hall / porch, hence why paint costs are being accounted for.
The only room which won't be touched this year is the kitchen, that needs a lot of money, planning and thought for a temporary makeover; I still find it a hideous mess!
I'm also going to try and squeeze in painting the communal walls and ceilings over summer, if I've got enough saved; that's white ceilings and upper half walls and colour lower half walls. Even if I do my floor this year, ground floor next etc it's all going to get done over time.
Thank goodness I've got 2 weeks holiday carried forward huh 🤭Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
I wish I had extra holiday. Normally buy 2 weeks extra but didn't this yearAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Enjoying your plans Babs! Lovely to read your progress - definitely little and often. It is inspiring me to do something with this place. It's not exactly a hovel, but, is definitely needing at the minimum redecorating."...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains however improbable, must be the truth..."
