Ye I am such a fool that I trust my brother. Maybe if I was you I wouldn't have to go through this.
Correct......you wouldn't be.
Learn not to be so gullible in future.0 -
And if your brothers account is working, ask him for the £197 he stole from you.0

In this specific situation I got backlashed for trusting my brother, I had 0 reasons to suspect him that he intentionally sending me scammed money.
Also why the bank is not investigating his account? They don't see where I got the money from? If there should be any consequences then he should receive them and not me.
Too late now isn'it?0 -
The only way you are going to get anywhere good on this is by reporting yourt borther to the police for fraud and giving this information to the bank and autherising them to give the money back to the person it belongs to.
You won't do that though will you.
As people asy if anyone I knew asked me to do such a strange (obvious to anyone) fraudulant thing (that does not make any sense, can't withdraw money? 1. card does not work, go to a bank to do it. 2. Fraud.) I would be saying no.0 -

Not sure, but let's see what the final result of investigation going to be.
If its really going to be that harsh then I am done with my brother for long time ;d
Also this will complicate my student finance a lot.
You told in your first post that I should open a new account now in different bank
The investigation ends in 1 week, do I even have time to open the account? How long does it take?0 -
In reply to your PM:
Hey you replied to my post about barclays putting my acc under review.
It seems like everyone replying there already knows the outcome = closure of account and CIFAS marker.
You think Barclays will close my account and put CIFAS marker? I have really not know that the received money from brother is coming from a scam, beside that the amount is low. Barclays should let me explain myself first?
Is it really the only outcome? I still think its too harsh. I am second year student at Uni, I am receiving student finance etc. CIFAS Marker would make my life a hell.
Yes they will likely close your account and apply a CIFAS marker against you.
This will make obtaining credit in the future very difficult indeed.
Barclays will investigate and you need to tell them EVERYTHING.0 -

Do you think they will care to listen to my side of the story? I mean I will explain them what really happend and what they will then make final decision then ?0 -

Perhaps your brother has blamed everything on you. You accessed his accounts........0 -

too much of conspiracy for one day, goodnight.0 -
Sorry seems fake... if money was sent to his PayPal and he withdrew it to his bank the PayPal account would be in minus and PayPal refund the buyer leaving his account in the red!
Only thing they would do is send loads of debt letters to you they wouldn’t involve banks so therefore I find the story quite unlikely unless he on purpose rang the bank after sending you money and said you scammed him and got money from you and a refund from the bank leaving you with a CIFAS marker?0
