Hi, i am new to this...I have done a switch this morning through MSE cheap energy club (including bank details for DD) to swap to better deal with npower. I have not had a confirmation email as yet from anywhere to say I have started the process. I am worried that it has not worked, but don't want to do it again just in case it generates a duplicate application.
Has anyone gone through the process, and could tell me how long it takes for first confirmation email to come through? The Faq's suggests, "you are emailed every step if the way".
    Thankyou

    Hi PCF2003, and welcome :)

Please don't take this the wrong way, but don't you think you may be being a little impatient?

You say you only applied this morning, and what the webpage actually says is:
We'll email you every step of the way so you know what's happening. You'll get an email when you've applied for a switch, or if it's rejected you (possible but not common) we'll let you know.

Perhaps your application has not been assessed yet? I suggest you give it a few days :)

Can anyone help. I am moving into a house next week, however the previous owner was on a business tarrif with Total GP for Gas, and another company SSE for electricity. Whenever I go on switching sites, I cannot select these providors. I want to be on a residential tarrif, how do I switch providors (and hopefully still get cashback for doing so)
  • Npower customer - used Topcashback.co.uk to gain £21.21 for using uSwitch who offered 6 bottles of wine (£4.99 delivery), who in turn reduced my tariff until Feb 2015 with my current supplier. RESULT!!

The comparison sites are only for domestic consumers - they don't include business tariffs.

You will need to register with existing suppliers before you can apply to switch supplier. (be careful they don't tie you into a long contract)

Do a comparison using the default suppliers/tariffs (or just pick any)
The comparison site will show you the cheapest option for your declared usage. Ignore the declared savings as that obviously is compared to whatever supplier/tariff you told the comparison site you were on.

    Hello everybody,

I have been trying to do a price comparision using the simplyswitch £40 referral link from moneysavingexpert but it is not working, it takes all the details until the last page where clicking next is supposed to show you the results but it simply goes back to the first page (where it asks you to type the post code). I have tried different browsers like Chrome & IE and on different computers too but still the same, is anyone else going through the same problems? is there a solution?
I need to switch as soon as possible as my fixed has now come to an end and im now in more expensive standard standing charge tarriff.

    Thanks

Well you would think if you've tried different browsers and even different computers it would affect others similarly, wouldn't you?

But I can confirm it's working ok here.

I suggest if you continue to experience issues, you try a different comparison site - plenty to choose from in the article :)

Thanks for letting me know. I want to use simply switch because that's the best deal I can get at the moment. What browser did you use and at what date and time, if u have tried in the last few hours then maybe they have fixed it now? Last time I tried it was at 8 pm and it want working.

    Hi all,

I was a Scottish Power customer until I moved to my current house a month ago. My SP account was closed and settled.

I'm now on EON and want to switch to SP again to their Nov 2014 fix.

I see that the MSE Cheap Energy Club is offering £90 cash back to switch to SP, but the term says "new customer only".

Will I be eligible for the cash back considering I was a SP customer before?

    Thank you.

    Yes :)

If you are not currently a customer of the supplier at your supply address, you will be considered a new customer if you switch to that supplier :)

Indeed, I'm still on track to receive £45 cashback to switch back to Scottish Power (electricity only; £90 is for duel fuel) after I moved home. Takes a while to get though!
