  • Hi
Does anyone know how to amend the 'current tarrif details' in my Cheap Energy Club account?
I have already done a comparison and applied to switch (to Scottish Power, with £90 cash-back and saving £157 per year apparently), so I have a change pending but I accidentally put in the wrong tariff for gas, so the comparison wont be right.
when i log in i can only seem to amend my actual account details, like contact number etc.

    Thanks.

Think this is what you're after:
click on 'back to your account' in blue on top right hand corner
Then click blue button to 'edit details'
you can go in and change anything you like.
  • Hi,
I've put my details in Cheap energy club and it's telling me congratulations your already on a cheap deal (online price freeze June 2013) £79 per month when actually I'm paying £103 a month on this tarrif. Just wondering how accurate the comparison site is. Has anyone else experienced this? I have double checked my figures and have used Kwh.

    Thank you.

I can't speak on the Cheap Energy Club but it is likely that the £79 pm is the monthly average you should pay over a full year (based on your estimated annual consumption) but energy suppliers set your DD higher because they like you to build up a credit balance in the summer so that you don't go into a debit over winter.

Unless you have a substantial credit at the moment, it is unlikely that the supplier will reduce your DD until the spring.

    Edit
Are you sure it's June 2013? If so, the "freeze" has ended.

    Hi
I currently have a semi detached property which is run on oil heating. I want to convert to gas because i'm finding oil too expensive to run.
The property is situated approx 30m from the main rd, are there any grants available or green schemes, or any other information that can assist in fitting gas to my property.

I'd say the best bet, in the first instance, is to get in touch with your regional energy company and see what the cost is likely to be and whether you can get any financial assistance.

Are you in the middle of nowhere or might you be able to get together with your neighbours to get a deal on the installation?

    Hi all
Apologies for asking this but I'm currently renting, use gas for hot water and central heating only (£100 every 3 months all year although I don't use it in the summer at all), and electricity for shower, cooker and the rest (£200 every 3 months).
I rent a small 2 bed new terraced house, good ish insulation.
How do I even start trying to find the best deal- and does it matter that I rent?
    Thank you.

Firstly you need to know who your supplier is and what tariff you're on.

Are the bills sent to you? If you've got them for the last year then the latest bill should tell you what your consumption was over the previous year.

Use those consumption figures in an energy comparison site to see what tariff comes up best for you (generally, the cheapest).

  • Hi

I am currently on the cheapest tariff available when I switched, that being EDF Blue+ Price Promise September 2013. Should I switch now as I will be transferred to Standard Variable tariff as of 30.09.13?

It takes 4 - 6 weeks for the switch to complete so you may be on their default tariff for a week or two if you switch now.

    Edit
New regs have recently (this week) come into force so they might hold the price until the switch is completed.

    Correction
Subject to any appeal lodged by the energy companies, the new regs should start coming into force from 23 October.
