Tried to change tariffs through above website 20 June 2013 from npower online tariff to npower Price Fix 2015 but heard nothing. Phoned npower today - they had no record of change but offered to transfer me despite this fixed tariff now not available.
Full marks to npower and null point energyhelpline!!!0 -
Hi, I need help!
Bought my first house 16 months ago and have British Gas as my supplier for gas and electricity.
I know they're a rip off and that I could save money by going elsewhere but I just can't get my head around what I need to do. How can I get my usage stats from them and work out a comparison with other companies? I've tried before but I just don't get it!
I'm not stupid (I don't think!) but it just seems so complicated. Has anyone done it who has a step-by-step guide or where can I look? Price comparison sites don't make it much easier.
Sorry for my stupidity and thanks in advance for any help given0 -
Start a new thread to get a better response.
However, if you look at your recent bills or statements, you may well see what you have used over a 12 month period in kWh, or you can probably work it out if you have enough previous bills. Alternatively call BG and ask them what your annual usage has been.
That is what you need to put into the comparison sites (usage in kWh for both gas and electricity), rather than the cost.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. I recently switched our joint gas & elec via Moneysavingexpert.com's "Cheap Energy Club" ...... can't fault that, the whole switch has taken just over a month.
I switched away from EDF & as I was in credit & had the final bill a couple of days ago, I emailed yesterday ( after 10 minutes on the phone waiting & not getting answered).... here's the reply (names removed to protect identities)

..so how come when the rest of us live in an age of instant internet buying & selling and where we can use the "Faster Payments" system to move money in SECONDS, is it going to take them 14 days to give my money back??? !!
UPDATE..... even more old-fashioned, I received a cheque from them today, 21st Aug....0
