WYWTH WROTE The unit prices are irrelevant, the total annual cost which the comparison sites provide is the important number.
If you used a comparison site, you should have noted that details of all the tariffs are included thereon
HI ALL ive just been on moneysupermarket site but i can not find any unit prices for the energy just says what you can save plus where says read on no unit price details there. there are 32 tariffs it has come up with only two cheaper than what im on now with coop and these are not fixed .all 30 others are more than coop yet no mention of coop .The first two on the list pay commission how much commission is it ?. the coop doesnt pay any commission on the chart why? .I would love to think im getting the best deal from a comparison site but i like to see the unit kwh prices of energy and work it out from there plus any commission the site is getting from the utility company.
I rang up a company for a car insurance quote he asked who i am with now how much am i paying i told him ill tell you after you give me best quote you can:j.same with energy why do they need to know who you are with how much you pay now. just post code and energy usage is needed then it should be easy find cheapest price for your energy0 -
Can anyone help?
I've just checked my gas & electric tariff on-line & worked out that a 9% increase on my current tariff would still be less than fixing. Surely it would be wise to just stay as I am, or maybe I'm completely missing something???
:eek:0 -
Of course, whether to fix or not is your choice.
What Martin has always said is grab a CHEAP fix, but after a couple of months of his nagging everyone to do so, it's not really surprising that most CHEAP fix tariffs are now closed to new applicants.
What you may be missing is the fact that not all suppliers are raising prices by 9% and indeed that is only an average figure - if you read the board you will see some have complained of price rises twice that for them.
Also, despite 4 of the big 6 having already announced their price hike and one more Martin thinks he has sussed (Eon to raise prices early in the new year?), there's nothing to stop them raising prices again shortly ... unless you are on a FIXED tariff
What happens then if I fix, but then prices come down? Will I be stuck on a higher price if there's a costly cancellation fee? Or is the fix just a cap?0 -
You've already asked this before and Wywth has already provided you with the answer!
If you don't want to be informed how much you can save, you don't need to give correct current supplier, choose any and you will still get a list of annual costs per tariff for your region and usage.
Also can any one tell me what is the percentage of commission various comparison sites get ? cant find the information on various comparison sites0 -

Im currently with Npower by currentTariff -sign online 23 ends 6.11.12. I have used u switch via quidco and can get savings of £300 by changing to another tarif with npower. Its Npower
Energy Online January 2014. I had the actual usage from last year from N power.
I am in the exact same situation as you.
Energy Online Jan 14 is showing cheapest for me based on annual consumption. However it will be a £100 a year more than SOL23.
I think you mean that Energy Online Jan 14 is £300 cheaper than the tariff you will be onto (Go Save S) but it will actually be more than SOL23.0 -

Hi - I am new to this, but have a question. I am signed up with cashback sites, and if i switch utility supplier through their u-switch link, I get £28 cashback. If I switch through the supplier and bypass uswitch, I get £42 cashback. If I switch through uswitch, then click on Scottish Power, would it combine the cashback?! Or do I have to just choose from 1 offer? I have heard before that you can combine cashback offers to maximise payout but I am unsure of how to do this. Thanks for your help in advance0

If you used the correct link, you should have seen the cashback offer displayed in the top banner of their site.
If it wasn't there, then you probably didn't use the MSE link so lost out.0
