    Afternoon all :)
Toni's friend, I feel your pain as regards your freezer. Even though I take things out of mine, they always seem to be stuffed full :rotfl:
DNMS and Ziggy, hope you feel better soon
I have 8 and 12 year old grand daughters arriving soon for an overnight stay. Hope they behave themselves - they can be little monkeys and to be honest I find the little ones easier! But if they are good, we can have a fun morning tomorrow :)

    So today I have:
    HG fruit with breakfast
Usual kitchen clean up, cleaned loos etc
Went to sales unit and tidied up. Was pleased to see that a couple of items had gone.
Did a shop - I will need to go tomorrow to get lunch bits for the girls as it is easier to let them choose, within reason (they are terribly fussy ) - but I have done the bulk of it.
I have a chocolate cake in the oven - very moreish, so I only make it when we have visitors.
OH will go to get fish and chips for dinner - easier with the fussy pots. It will be a treat for them, as they don't have it often. Neither do we, having said that!

    Ditty, you're sounding much happier
Thanks 1LL the problem at work is now defined and in progress, so thats better.
One thing though surprised me last night. My bed has had a suspicious crack on the side for a while and last night it happened - it actually broke. It has been a piece of S*** since I bought it - so now it has run it's course. An other dent. Am sleeping in uni son's room for now - so just need a plan before Christmas!
Anyways out for a bit more walking and shopping in a bit.

Last night ds went to his friends for the evening, dd suggested the 3 of us play games, we had hm meals from the freezer for dinner, very little work, more time for playing, we all had something different and everyone had something they like. A free, fun and relaxing time.

Today we don't have any plans to leave the house.

Our boiler is playing up, no heating only hot water, so we have the stove lit, kettles on top producing plenty of free hot water for all the tea & coffee we drink.

I am planning for today to be a NSD. It has been

I need to sort out a corner of the kitchen, it has become a dumping ground, things I know it contains are 2 batches of unlabeled chutney, filing, papers that need me to action, papers I've kept because they are of interest and who knows what other mysteries. chutney labelled & put away, confidential waste destroyed on the fire, I have a small pile of things to action, recycling is done, filing done

I want to find time to make a loaf, make a batch of porridge and possibly make a gingerbread. bread & porridge done, decided to make some banana bread as we have bananas in the freezer, I will probably do this tomorrow or Monday as it doesn't need using in advance

I also need to do the usual things like home educate the children, Pmp, RM survey, shut the curtains & blinds before it gets dark, stick with the meal plan, keep the freezer inventory up to date up to date

We also sorted out our bulk supplies of flour, now it is being stored where and how we want, over 100kg of it
Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

  • Morning
Got so exhausted at work by Thursday that I couldn't be bothered with getting the laptop out at all. It's been a tough first week back - but another week closer to the holidays :rotfl:
Love and hugs to all those not feeling great at the moment.
I've woken up with a bit of a headache this morning but have been a busy bunny. Swallowed two phone frogs because I just hate phoning people. Done two loads of washing, ordered more cat litter and changed the current trays, washed the dishes and put the rubbish and recycling out. I need to make something for lunch and use up lots of veggies before they go bad, I have all the ingredients for a stew or casserole - nice winter food.
Have to pop out later (after the football kicks out) with dd to pick up some click and collect Christmas orders we've both been doing. Need to bin the headache off first though.

    Afternoon all :)
Kids have gone back now (and taken grumpy dog) phew!!
They wanted to go out this morning but unfortunately the weather is horrible, initially cold and frosty, and later really wet. We made pancakes for breakfast (very cheap) but it all got quite spendy once we went out, mainly due to the rotten weather. They had 2 goes on the zip wire thing in the park and it started to rain :( Walked into town to their favourite sweetshop (the newsagents which have all kinds of vile sounding bubble gum etc :rotfl:) and then got a hot chocolate in a cafe to warm up. Also bought warmer socks to warm up cold feet. Walked to Sainsburys so that they could choose some things for their lunch and rang OH to come and pick us up as it was raining so hard :(
I had put some puzzle books in the trolley at the supermarket, and that kept them mostly occupied until their parents returned. I have the loft bedroom to sort out as it looks like a bomb site, and need to go around with the disinfectant spray and cloth as grumpy dog did a bit of scent marking :( but it will all have to wait as I have a headache.
Normal service will be resumed tomorrow when grandma has recovered a bit!

Evening all, Its been a really wet here too. The kids didn't want to come shopping with us so they stayed home and played their games and didn't really move til we came home with some meat pies for lunch!
Dh and I had a good shopping trip, we bought quite a lot of our xmas gifts (mainly bits to go into my parents/inlaws hampers) and the boys pajamas and toiletries sets.
Called into lakeland as I've finally got round to deciding to buy their heated airer, I've been thinking about it for years, I remember pm'ing the lovely Foxgloves about it years ago and I kept putting it off. I can't wait to have it delivered now! I was able to get 10% off the bundle price too with a voucher that had come in the post to me when I signed up for their loyalty card. Used a £5 off a £25 spend voucher too on some gifty bits again for the hampers.
Dh loved the new bedding so we bought a 2nd set today. Got two sets now for about the price of one set of the other sort :)

Still need to update my xmas spreadsheet but definitely feeling organised this year. I'll plan to start making up the hampers / wrapping kids gifts on Monday when I have the house to myself.

An afternoon watching more Bond films with dh, with candles lit and fleece blankets out.

Thats about it for today. Take care all.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
  • Back to normal today (hopefully)

One load of washing on and another two to do. Will dry inside as it's too cold outside
    Some ironing
    Change bedding
    Make soup
    Have leftovers for lunch
Roast dinner (Himself to prepare vegetables)
Do a meal plan for next week to try and use things from stores and freezer

    Have a good Sunday
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

** my parcel has arrived with my niece and neighbours xmas gifts, I've updated the spreadsheet and will quickly wrap them. I'm going to try HK's way of doing bits as and when rather then all in one mamonth session! .

1LL I would def recommend. If I had to do a big session of wrapping I would just give up. Not only would it seem like an uphill battle I have to cope with the cats chewing the paper, running across it when I've just cut a piece, demanding that I make and throw paper balls and then I get one cat who basically after I've cut a piece launches themselves onto the piece of paper basically faceplanting it:rotfl::rotfl::eek:

Nearly all presents done now. Need to go to Tesc@ later (will stick to a list) so will also look for a box for a couple of presents I need to send.

Was at a works event Friday night. Travelled back yesterday-saw snow and Christmas lights, went through thick fog but no rain and we have blue skies today.

    Banking all checked, everything good.
Plans in place to get my savings up ready for decorating the living room next year.
    QuidCo checked
Claimed a couple of vouchers in Amaz@n to get a couple of items very cheap including toilet rolls I will split with DD-apparently a very necessary student item:rotfl::rotfl:

    Cat cleaning all done.
    Washing eco setting-one load done
    DW just on-30 degree setting

    Plan for today
    * take it easy (I've just nearly fainted with this one!:D)
    * do more unpacking
    * shopping
    *ironing
And unfortunately some paperwork needs completing tonight:(

    Have a great day everyone.
Look after unself ziggy colds are horrible, especially the ones that linger:(
