  • Just a quick one from me today as I had a rubbish sleep last night, so will not be doing any computer related work once I'm home from school.
Hope your appointment has helped somewhat DNMS.
Think I will manage a nsd as the plan is home, flea stuff, jammies and bed.
Find missing bit of the hoover (I am 99% certain my cleaner has something to do with its disappearance although she is playing innocent - and it's the hose bit that gets into all the small spaces and I need it so I might have to stump up for a cheap replacement from bay of e).
I had fleasprayed in the hoover. Apparently this should protect the house for a year - I will not hold my breath.
    Leftover soup for dinner.
Work hard on my crochet projects that desperately need to be finished before Christmas.
Watch town fireworks from prime spot on my bedroom windowsill - warmer, quieter and free hot chocolate.
That will do - I'm going home now for a rest (I hope).

    Afternoon all :)
Well, the cooker is fixed :j
But had a very annoying and frustrating morning involving OH taking over and getting in the way, DD turning up with tantruming GS, the window cleaner coming during all the other kerfuffle and the dog barking at all the excitement :eek:
As a result I don't know what the cooker mender did or what / how he was paid - I thought I had paid him by card, but then there was a text message from paypal..... And GS had all my cards out of my bag. Will need to check the banks, paypal etc tomorrow and see what has gone on. Had he turned up earlier (he was supposed to come at 10) all the distractions would not have been in the way and I would have known what was going on! I hate not being in control of things that should be in my control :( But hopefully all will be ok. I wouldn't mind so much, but this company has been difficult to deal with / not turned up when they said etc so getting an incorrect bill sorted out is unlikely to be easy.
And I have indigestion from trying to eat my lunch and sort out GS at the same time (should have just left the lunch)
My brother turned up and OH blurted out something that my brother had told me, not particularly in confidence, but he didn't need to bring it up in front of DD
Could really do without a retired husband today!!!!!
Or yesterday, thinking about it :rotfl:

He has no idea why I am cross, and if I told him he would bluster and make it all out to be my fault. So I shan't bother.

Apart from all this stupid drama, I have:
    Had HG fruit with breakfast
Some cleaning got done - the bathroom and stairs, as well as the usual kitchen tidy up :T
Not spent anything except for paying the window cleaner (in cash, with clinging child tucked under my arm) and an unspecified but large amount (by some or other means) to the oven repairer :(
    Grrrr

    oh Dawn what a day!

Last nights fireworks was a bit of a let down, we'd had food at my parents and lovely chat which was great but then we were waiting for my sister to arrive (the drive which would normally take her 15-20 minutes took her just over an hour. So we were later walking down to the front and it was rammed. The strap on my handbag broke in the middle of a big crowd so theres me trying to bend over to pick it up with my bad back being bumped around! - (I've been able to fix it this morning, I just hope it holds! as I've used this bag every day for the past 6yrs so I've definitely had my moneys worth but they don't make the bag anymore so I really don't want to lose it!- bags used to be "my thing" I'd spend lots of money on a new bag every month or so, looking for the perfect one. I must have spent a small fortune! ) Anyway... back to the fireworks, they started bang on 7pm....3 fireworks went off then nothing :( we waited til about half past then headed to our car... they did get them going eventually and we did see some off them on our drive up the hill to get home. (sods law because we were late getting down there we weren't close enough to be near the loud speakers, if we'd been nearer we'd have known there'd been a technical hitch and we'd have waited a bit longer)

    Anyway on to today
    * My back is still bad, will do stretches at home and save fuel instead of going to the gym. :D
    * Kids have gone on the school bus ^^:D
    * Check banking/update spreadsheet :D
    * Empty dishwasher and reload :D - wipe round the kitchen as it wasn't cleared up last night :D
    * Drink lots of hot water and less coffee/tea today as i've not been enjoying my drinks this week for some reason
    * Freezer inventory needs updating after last weeks holiday :D
    * Put a beef stew in to cook in the sc :D
    * wash a load on the quick 30 degree wash :D / put dry washing away from the radiators :D / iron just what needs doing :D / put wet stuff on the radiators ready for when they go on tonight :D
    * Put an extra jumper on this morning as its cold but I won't put the heating on for just me :D

    More to follow...
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

    Morning all :)
Hoping for a less frustrating day today!
Husband is going out this morning :T
I have decided I will have a cooking day :) I have things to use up in the fridge, so will do that! Made a soup, which used some leftover gammon hock, 2 lots of stock, some celery and carrots that needed using, plus other bits and pieces. Also a shepherds pie base (or rather 2 of them :D) using up more stock, carrots and celery. Chopped rest of celery and froze it (it only took up a little corner). I would have liked to have frozen the rest of the HG carrots, but there is no room in the freezer for them atm. Mixed some leftover mashed swede with freshly cooked mashed potato to top one of the shepherds pies. Made a spinach and feta pie with filo pastry to use big bag of HG spinach and some feta - or rather Sainsbugs basics Greek salad cheese - approaching its date. Lots of odd bits and pieces used, and we had some soup for lunch, along with some rolls that had gone a bit stale, but were fine toasted, and a shepherds pie for dinner. However, I now have a full fridge again, with leftover soup, a shepherds pie base and a pie... and leftover filo pastry :rotfl:Not much cooking needed for a few days, anyway.
    But first I will:
Wash my hair with my everlasting shampoo bar and leave it to dry naturally Done
Check banks and paypal to try to find out where cooker payment was taken from, and how much. Nothing showing yet. Check again tomorrow
Relist coat on ebay now that ebay have allowed me to close the non payment case and refunded my seller fee. Hopefully non paying timewasters will not bother to bid on it this time! Done
May do a little bit of gardening later if the weather holds Not done, poured with rain :(
And even if it doesn't I will do a bit of housework. I mostly dislike housework, but find that doing a little bit each day stops it from becoming overwhelming. Hoovering and some dusting downstairs and started to clear up loft bedroom a bit.
1LL, I used to have a similar handbag habit - but as I bought them from either charity shops or boot sales there wasn't a lot of money spent tbh. However, I did end up with a ridiculous number of them :o so sold several earlier this year to prune them down to a sensible level. I still have about 6 though, so should think about selling some more.

I agreed to have 2 grandchildren to stay over at the weekend so that DD1 and her OH could have a much needed night out after their recent bad news. Now these two can be little monkeys, even though at 12 and 9 they should really know better...... and I now discover that I will be getting their grumpy dog as well
  • Morning

Caught up with outstanding tasks yesterday. So today.

    Charge tablet and phone
    Check banking
Clear used fireworks from communal back area
    Blend tomato soup for dinner
    Chicken wings defrosting for lunch
Go to post office to post letter for the Boy
Take some things to Charity Shop
Phone sister in law to check if she needs anything
Iron what needs done from yesterday
Himself is out today so I might manage some cleaning and decluttering without him asking me very five minutes what I'm doing
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
