    Morning all,

Dawn, your food from yesterday sounds lovely!
I hope the missing regulars like LaE, PF, Ally and Clf are doing ok.

Todays list is pretty similar to yesterdays really.
    * kids had omelette & beans for breakfast as I had no bread to do eggs on toast (bread added to shopping list) :D
    * kid have gone to school on the bus again as I'm not going to the gym with my back still being sore :D
    * I left the slow cooker to soak last night and the kitchen wasn't cleared so thats my next job :D
    * washing away off the radiators if dry :D
    * check banking/update spreadsheet
    * cook two chickens at the same time (will give some to my dad later too) :D
    * meet a friend for a coffee, I've cancelled twice whilst my toothache was bad so I'm really looking forward to seeing her today (and I have a costalot gift card to use from my birthday) :D
    * will pop to mr t which is next to the coffee place, to get the eggs & bread that I need plus some dishwasher salt as I can't seem to get that very often from aldee :D
    * get dh some perc coffee that he loves from m&s on my way back, will use the gift card he got from work for his birthday :D
    * check my card box before I go out as I have three birthdays next week, if I don't have anything suitable I can pop into the cheap card shop which is on the same retail park. :Dneed to buy one out of the three I need[ /B] :Dcards bought, written and delivered
    * [STRIKE]will have a chicken dinner tonight - [/STRIKE] I have some stuffing mix in the use up box that has been in the cupboard a long long time so wll plan to use some of that too. will have the chicken tomoorrow as I'm now going to have the left over stew, with a part tin of beans & a part tin of sweet corn from the fridge. It will only be a small portion each but I'd forgotten about the soup I made yesterday so we'll have that first with some crusty rolls - have already cooked the stuffing but they would all like that in their chicken sandwiches tomorrow anyway
    * make families lunches for tomorrow, looks like dh isn't wfh though :(
    * make myself some american pancakes for breakfast as I only had one egg and no bread in the house, added a bit of cheese, ham and sweetcorn - lots left for the kids after school snack and some for their lunch boxes tomorrow as they both enjoy them cold.
    :D
** after pulling all the meat off the chicken, I've put the carcass in the slow cooker, and will add in carrot peelings, celery tops from the veggies I'm prepping for lunches and then make a lovely stock
** my parcel has arrived with my niece and neighbours xmas gifts, I've updated the spreadsheet and will quickly wrap them. I'm going to try HK's way of doing bits as and when rather then all in one mamonth session!
** run the dishwasher on the quick wash :D
** run a load through the washing machine on the quick 30 degree wash :D
** used up two little sachets of apple sauce that had come with some cooked sliced pork we had ages ago, added them into a bowl with blackberries we picked in the summer and stewed them in the microwave with a random plum from the fruit bowl. :D
    **

Thats my starter, take care all.

    Miserable and grey here.

Have to stay in to await a parcel for the Boy so in addition to all my usual chores (which I'm sure you're all bored listening to) I'm going to attack some cupboards and dispose of what I can.

That should take up most of the day!
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

    Morning all :)
Pleased to say that the correct oven repair money seems to have gone out of the correct account despite GS and OH's kind assistance, plus my brother, DD2, the window cleaner, the dog and the repair man not getting much of a signal for his card machine. Phew! :j
    So far today:
    Banks checked

    HG fruit for breakfast

    Usual kitchen clean up etc

Spare bedroom got ready for norty GCs and grumpy dog on Friday night (wish me luck!)
Hoovered and dusted main bedroom (other bedroom is OH's den - it is full of carp and I don't venture in there )
Planted out some broad bean plants - not sure if they will survive or not, but I have covered them with fleece to give them a chance. Hopefully the fleece will stay put! I think I have anchored it down quite well.
Cut back a rampant and untidy mint
Load of washing done and now blowing outside on the line :)
Now sat down with a well deserved banana :T
    Still to do:
Make a spicy fruit loaf in the BM :)Done (yum, had a slice while it was still warm)
Attack the raspberry bed later if the nice weather holds out. I need to cut the canes to the ground (I grow the autumn sort), weed it, and scatter the rest of a bag of manure that has been hanging around over it. I then need to find a space in the compost bins for the soft bits, the actual canes can dry out to use for fire lighting. Done, all cleared, soft bits in compost, compost / manure on bed, path swept :D Asked OH to level the bird bath as it was on a slant, much better now.
Cook the beetroot that I pulled out to make room for the broad beans Doing now - I grow multi coloured beetroots, but we are both convinced we have a turnip amongst them. We don't like turnips, so I did not plant any, and have no turnip seeds.....
Food I made yesterday for lunch and dinner, just need to do some veg to go with it :DDone
Better see if the beetroot / turnip is done :rotfl:

Glad to hear the money worked out in the end DawnW!

    The best laid plans...
Today was a day off, but my boss WhatsApp'd me last night to ask if I could do a full day, 9-6 (I normally only work 5 hours a day). Of course the answers yes (more days more dollars) - but I've had to do a quick shimmy around with all the things I'd planned to do today!! I'm actually really pleased because there's a major change to our booking system that goes live today, and it's good to be in at the get-go. Well that got complicated. The boss definitely texted yesterday evening saying 'Can you work 9-6 tomorrow' - but what she really meant was 'on Saturday'. So - I did 4 1/2 hours today, which she's happy to pay as overtime - and I'm working a full day tomorrow as well!! She was quite embarrassed, but I don't mind the overtime, so no harm done!!

I got the Xmas presents wrapped last night, ready for my road trip next week - I'll be seeing 6 of the people that I'm giving gifts to, so might as well be organised and save having to post them!!

I have a bit of work that I need to do in the office, so I'll be getting up as soon as I've written this, quick shower and get dressed for work, and that gives me about an hour in the office before I have to set off, which should break the back of it. All done, didn't take as long as I thought it would!!

The blog publishes automatically at 8am - I usually have a last-minute fiddle with it before it goes, but it's not always possible. And besides, I can go into it even after it's published and change it if I notice any glaring issues!!

I'll shop tonight on my way home from work - if I have the time and the weather's on my side, I normally walk, but I'll just go straight there in the car tonight. Must remember to take my list with me. Because I got the office work done quickly, I had time to walk over to the shop (it only takes 7 minutes, I've timed it!!) so that's one less job for tonight and means I can come straight in from work and cook without having to shop first.

I also have to fit in the exercises the physio gave me for my hamstring. I have to do them twice a day, so it's going to have to be right now and then the second set this evening. They seem to be working!! Morning exercises - tick.

Right - none of this will happen if I don't shake a leg.

Keep warm and dry if you possibly can. xx

Have had a super busy week, 2 full cover days and 4 NDS days, sleep, run, swim; tonight I'll try to do some cleaning before doing a bit of couching w a pint!
NSD is the best ever way to keep a budget - I have literally spent £6 since last Sunday when I did a top up shop - 3 on club swim, and 3 on DS school lunch this morning, bit in budget and under budget. Spending 177 on my car last week so threw my budget and my available cash - that I'm still limited in spending - even within my budget. But I'm not broke and I am happy and grateful for this thread slowly (I'm a slow learner) how to pull through every day and pretty much just say no 9/10 or 8/10 - mainly to myself - pretending I am 8 and he is 2!
Anyways - brought lunch today w 2 muffins from the back of the freezer, will go looking for a couple of bargain on the way home, were running low on a few things.
Get home, walk dog, a bit of cleaning, fold laundry and then ...

    Afternoon all,

Dnms & Ziggy I hope you're feeling better in yourselves soon.
    Ditty, you're sounding much happier

My back is feeling so much better thankfully, just got to make sure I keep on the move over the weekend and don't spend too much time snuggled up on the sofa.

    Todays list
    * made a chicken stock in the slowcooker
    * washed a load on the quick 30 degree wash
    * ran the dishwasher on the quick wash
    * took kids to school as ds2 lost his phone yesterday, luckily it had been handed in to the school office :D
    * as I was out that way I decided to give the gym a try (no class just walked on the treadmill whilst listening to a very interesting podcast) I really hope I'm fit enough to be back to classes next week as I miss the stucture to the day.
    * popped into Mr T as I'd forgotten screenwash yesterday (bought 4 as it was on offer and dh spends much of his days on the motorway) :D
    * had my monthly catch up with another friend (why does it always end up that I see my friends all in a few days rather then over the course of a month!- I'm fitting in with their timescales to be fair)
    * into dunelm to look for new bedding as one of our sets has really thinned and started getting little holes - bought something different to what we've had before, its a brushed cotton one which feels nice and warm. Will see how it goes. It was £13 for the superking size flat sheet compared to the Egyption cotton one which was £35! I hope dh likes it!

    Still need to
    * strip & make beds
    * make a chicken curry for tonight
    * general tidy round before the kids get home
    * get washing out of the machine and on to the radiators
    * check banking/update spreadsheets

Thats it for now, take care all.
