Hi jakes-mum and very belated happy birthday wishes to you! I'm pleased to hear it turned out well in the end. A shame your DS got it a little wrong with your gift but at least it came from the heart, bless him. 

The lockdown hasn't stopped you from selling then, but I'm glad you've been able to get cash to put in your pot, good for you.

I'm sorry to hear you've overspent, Hetty. I guess that's a problem with the lockdown, not to mention prices going up in the shops!! 😡 I'm not surprised you're pleased that your Son will be going back to school. It's totally different for all kiddies than the school holidays, at least during the holidays they can see their friends and do everything as normal, goodness knows what this has felt like to them! Also, having to be taught at home must be so very different, for the parents too!

I can understand your fantasies about moving and getting a house with a garden, especially right now. We were always fortunate with our kiddies when they were growing up as , due to DH being in farming, we always lived in the countryside, and always had a good sized garden for the kiddies to let off steam. Just be sure not to do anything in haste!

You're not on your own with not having potted lately, BlytheDoll, it's not exactly been easy for all us Sealed Potters as cards have been used so very much.

At least you've spent your time well in tidying everything and making the most of what can be sold!! Well done.

Don't worry mummytummy, we're almost all using cards instead of cash at present. I really miss not hearing that lovely chink of cash idropping n the pot. Still, needs must, at least for now. You do what ever you wish with regards to your bank. Stay safe and healthy down there! BTW, the thanks button is working now, though it's always worked as far as I know.

Hi siju, strange how quickly we can adapt to a completely alian way of life, even though it's hard at the start. DH & I have adapted, even though at times it feels as though the lockdown is never going to end. After all, it's all for our safety. 

Hubby has been renewing an old fence which has given him something to focus on and it really looks lovely, though I miss the Ivy which the birds used to love to forage in.

An excellent way for you to be saving right now at least, much like me with my IOU list gradually building up. 

Another £15 added onto the IOU list, quite a sum amassing now too!   BTW. Do take really good care of yourselves folks!

Aww thank you for the birthday wishes Sue, it was all a bit Meh to be honest and not a lot of people remembered, I think birthdays have become a bit forgotten during the lockdown as you can't go out for a meal, can't go and see the birthday person etc.
Due to doing all Dear Uncles shopping I am amassing a rather large stack of notes so i've started potting them to have something to do with them I can only get rid of so much at the post office and on the half week top up shop, bank account is dealing fine with buying both shops so figured I might as well chuck what I can in the tins.  So £10 in the pot over the last 2 days

I have more money for the tins!
Had a very big clear out of old receipts and coins from my purse, collected the pile of £2 coins I had set aside for potting, and found a mess of £1.
In total I Potted:
 £2 coins x6 (£12)
£1 coins x 14 (£14)
£5 note

Total potted £31.

Jakes Mum - I love your birthday present story. Makes me laugh and also reassures me when my own teenager does similar things. Definitely the thought that counts. My cousin sent her 18 y/o and 17 y/o to get food for my Auntie who has coeliac disease and hasn’t left her house for the duration. They took her 28 eggs and 14 packets of her special biscuits!!! My Auntie thought it as funny as I did but my cousin was spitting feathers!

Lockdown has been good for me in that I have been able to speak properly with my own teenager. We go for  walks after dark and have a great time counting cats/dogs/foxes/hedgehogs/badgers etc but hardly any humans.
oh yeah, potting. Found another penny roadkill and also Potted an IOU for more travel savings this week.

Another 5 £1 coins potted today - don't use cash at the moment (obviously!) so thought I might as well empty out the coins in my purse and put them to good use.

Hi there, I haven't been on here for quite a while but before the present situation started I was doing ok quietly potting along, but since self isolating and paying everything by card I haven't potted anything, infact I have taken £7 out twice to pay my window cleaner so Im £14 down!!! Oh dear ….

Ahh my son is Coeliac!  I'll be honest, he would be thrilled if someone bought him 28 eggs and 14 packs of biscuits It is also exactly what he would class as 'essential purchases' if sent to the shop!
I have a solitary £1 to pot but hopefully will have more tomorrow after the post office run

Well after the post office run today I had 2 more x £1 coins and some 20ps, 5ps and a 50p

Potted £2.  I bought some more compost and it was £2 less than I expected so it went into the pot.  Don’t worry Sue-UU the going back to the countryside (I too was lucky enough to be brought up in rural/semi rural locations) is a long term plan.  Next step of which is to try and get the mortgage down to £50k in time for remortgage at the end of October 😁

So sorry to hear your birthday was that bad, jakes-mum, but I guess I can understand the reasoning behind it. 

Thank goodness you said about birthdays getting forgotten during this Covid time as I realised today that I forgot my dear old school friend's on Thursday!! 😲 Also my youngest DGS had his on the 11th which was a bit meh too especially as he was 14. 

I see you're not doing so bad with your potting with your Uncle's and your shopping, brilliant work!!

Not easy times right now for we potters eh, nannygladys. Sad about having to take some out to pay the window cleaner, but needs must. Take care of yourself. 

Hi Hetty, so, for now, you were dreaming of times gone by, and hopefully....times to come when the time is right with which I wish you all the very best with! 

I was brought up in a lovely town in Hampshire, after DH & I married we went to live in the countryside as DH was a  Herdsman. I didn't like it at all, but soon became to love it, and I'd certainly never want to go back to a town life again.

You follow your dreams Hetty, however long it takes. 😊😍
