Blimey, have they been diddling with the site again?  Chucked me out and then apparently I wasn’t getting back in but I don’t take no for an answer.  Only potted about 15p since i was last around  so not much action.  Been reading the comments about empty shelves, I’ll see what Aldee is like tomorrow night but there are often empty shelves at the time I go anyway.  I’ve stopped listening/reading the news so have been listening to some great podcasts on the drive to work instead!  I was going to book a day off next week but apparently on the day I’d hoped to take off we are having a “mass work from home” day to see if the system can cope!  Not worried about the “system” but I’ve only got this iPad and at work I have two screens and a powerful pc as I have about four different central  systems all on the go at the same time

I'm so fed up with the doom and gloom that's invading all our lives at the moment, as I'm sure everyone is.  We could really do with some joyful news!  I'm looking forward to seeing my DD, DS and partners this weekend and hoping we can cheer ourselves up.  Haven't potted much lately but I do have £5.80 to throw in the pot today.  Try and stay optimistic potters and have a lovely weekend

evening everyone.
I have been having intermittent problems with accessing MSE again.  Hopefully it will all work itself out soon.

Everything sure is miserable at the moment siju, although I have just spent half hour on FaceTime with my 6 year old nephew sticking stickers on each others virtual faces that entertained us both for a while.
Not much potting going on here,  just the odd coin,  I have mostly been using my card instead of cash.  May go back to cash again next month though to top up the big pig.

Hope I can't log in again next time!

Oh dear jakes-mum, you have had an expensive time!  Tis a good job we save all year round as it certainly comes in handy at times like this. Still, I'm so pleased you're glad about your posh new laptop.

I'm blowed if I understand folk obsessed about stocking up on toilet rolls as there's no diarrhoea with the Coronavirus.

Hi BlytheDoll, amazing how quickly we become used to things eh! A shame as you could have saved on the expense of it all if only you'd realised, but there we go!

What a rotten shame about your washing machine! As if that weren't bad enough, but then for it to leak as well!!  How to wise for you to have put money aside for such things! 🤩

What some troubles you've been having with the site Hetty! I'm beginning to wonder if that's the true reason why so many are absent from the thread!! 😡

I'm wondering how on earth you're going to manage with the "work from home" trial, there will be a huge difference for you! Good luck with it.

You're right about the doom and gloom that's hit us all, siju!! I hope you have a lovely time with your family, though I bet stories or quips about the virus pop up sometime, it does with ours. Try and be as upbeat as is possible. 😀

Hi 32b3, I don't think it's just you and Hetty who are experiencing problems with the site as it's so quite here on our thread at least. I hope they soon get sorted! Things such as the triple quoting are really bugging me and especially not having any other colours!!!! 😡

Grrrrrrrrr just typed a comment to be then told I didn't have permission!!!!  Basis was Aldee had loo roll, saw one person with a trolley full of that and pasta sauce.  Heard another comment from a shopper regarding no flour and sugar left where he wondered if the stockpilers were going to make us all cakes to cheer us up.  Work from home next week is on, filled in a spreadsheet so will get lent some old kit.  Don't know where to put it/plug in as won't be wifi.  Broadband box in hall so probably sat on stairs all day with ethernet cable.  Anyway nice weekend planned; son is singing in a choir festival at the local theatre and grehyound walk on Sunday.  Hoping the weather is good!

Still here, still potting away. Just been informed the coach tour we were going on at Easter. Hopefully there will be a date we can change the booking to, if not it'll be a full refund (hopefully)

Afternoon potters,
Well I had to tell DH about his surprise birthday trip as we were due to go in 40 days I made the decision this morning to cancel the villa for a 50% refund (which my lovely villa owner really didnt have to do as im outside her T&C's so I am extremely grateful) as having spoken to my insurance company they told me that i'm not covered for a travel ban!   Everything else is under refund if we are still grounded so I thought best to mitigate my losses and if by some miracle we can fly in 40 days I can send an email to my villa owner, quickly repay her for the rental and fly out.  if not, im out £400, but thats a lot better than some people who are looking at thousands if their insurance wont cover

Still potting the odd bits and bobs, wont be much now as we are in the 'vulnerable' group so have to stay within our 4 walls as much as possible.  DH's friend got a bit uppety when we wouldn't open the door to him but we have got to take all the precautions we can, especially with DH's reoccuring pneumonia

Anyway, stay safe everyone, maybe we'll all be posting more cos none of us can go anywhere?

The part of the weekend where your little lad sang in the choir sounded lovely, Hetty! Kiddies put their hearts in to singing especially, and why not.

Well that quip from the Ald! Customer about those who stock-pile using their ill gotten goods to cheer others up I can't quite see happening, but you never know. 

All the best with working from home, though I think you're going to have your work cut out with that!! All the best to you though, I'm sure it'll be a lot safer than going in to work.

Hi Lucy, good to hear from you and that you're potting well.

I'm so sorry to hear your Easter break will be postponed (I take it that's what the word that's missing means). Fingers crossed they'll be able to postpone it a later, much safer date.

Oh dear poor you jakes-mum, I guessed what was coming given current events. Still, you're looking at it sensibly, good for you. Hopefully, you'll be able to fly on out in the designated time! As you say though, you're so lucky compared so many poor folk.

I'm also in the "at risk" group as I've recently been diagnosed with COPD, only mildly so far, but things can soon change if I'm not extremely careful! DH isn't able to go out either due to my situation; neither is our DD due to her MS, so her hubby is going to see to us all, bless him.

Have a good Thursday folks!! Take very good care of yourselves, and no matter what, keep your spitits high!!
