This is really really me.

Morning all. Hope you've all had a lovely Christmas and received gifts which you wanted/liked. DH bought me an adjustable dressmaking dummy so I'm well happy. I didn't even know he'd got it for me - he asked DD1 to get it for him and said he'd pay her after Christmas so I didn't know he'd bought it (we have joint accounts so I can see everything that goes out!). Mind you I did exactly the same for him - he's wanted a Dutch Oven for his BBQ so I got DD1 to order it but I paid her at the time as DH doesn't bother with the bank accounts, he leaves all that to me.
Didn't go too made with Syns yesterday. Just totted up my syns for the week and with the lowish syn days I've had since we got back from holiday plus yesterday I'm only 3 syns over for the 6 days - I'm really pleased with that.
I had a quick look at my weight this morning and I'm now only 1lb above top end of target range so should be able to lose that by next week (but if I haven't I'll leave it another week until I go back to group!). A lot of the weight I've lost has been water retention but I'm pleased with how my week's done.
Today is the start of a new week and I'm back on plan properly, so today's plan:
B1 - HM mince pie 7.5 syns
B2 - boiled eggs P; WM bread HEB; spread 3
L - HM butternut squash soup S, F
D - Gammon P; swede & carrot mash, green beans S; potatoes F
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - spread 3; mince pie 7.5 (my last one - there is one left for DH and they'll all be gone)

That's brilliant denise. Well done.:T
Yesterday was much like any Sunday on the food front except that I probably had about a week's bread! I do enjoy a turkey sandwich and then later in the evening I decided to have a gammon one with mustard. It's a treat though. I think the last time I ate a sandwich was October.
Today's likely to be a bit better as it'll be leftovers and I love those.:D
I've had my SW breakfast (fried potatoes, egg and beans) so I've made a good start. Cold meats, chips and lots of pickles are likely later in the day but I'll play it by ear. Visitors still here but not sure for how long.:)
What will probably happen is that we'll gradually move back to normal eating through the coming week and just have one more special meal on NYE. DH will eat up biscuits, cake, crisps, mince pies etc but that won't bother me.Morning all. Hope you've all had a lovely Christmas and received gifts which you wanted/liked. Does this mean you've got plans for more dressmaking in 2020 denise? That sounds interesting.
We don't do gifts for adults any more but I have been online this morning and treated myself to some reduced make up.:)0 -
Yes Maman I'm definitely hoping to get a bit more dressmaking done. Haven't done much at all this year. I've got plenty of fabric but not necessarily the patterns to go with!
I've been looking in CS but everything in them seem to be really old fashioned and not things I'd want to wear! I managed to get 3 new patterns with a magazine earlier this year and I've made a pair of trousers from one of them which I still need to hem! I hate hand sewing, LOL. Really must get these finished before I start on anything else.
I'll still continue looking for patterns which are suitable for my fabrics in the new magazines as it's a much cheaper way of getting patterns. I'm also hoping the dummy will help with altering patterns a bit better. Patterns bear absolutely no resemblance to shop sizes! I'm a size 12 in ready made clothes but 16/18 in patterns - how ridiculous is that.
We don't generally do gifts for adults but occasionally buy presents for each other. Think it's quite funny that we both decided to do it this year without the other knowing!

Hi all and hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas!
Why is it, even though you're on Slimming World, people still insist on buying you copious amounts of chocolates/biscuits/mince pies?
(yes we have loads!)

Absolutely Abbafan. I've been given some nutty nougat (worked out syns and it's 51.5 for the box!) also a load of nuts.
Have decided the nougat, which is in 4 pieces, I'll cut in half so 6.5 at a time! Will have to eat it all over the next couple of weeks as DH doesn't like it. He can have the nuts! Not even going to check the syns for those.

I've just finished off the last of the Christmas pudding. It was only a tiny bit.:o Other than my chosen chocolates and some crisps I'm unlikely to be tempted by anything else.
. I had cold meat, some fried vegetables and beetroot for my lunch. Then watched a DVD with DD1. Now listening to the football, so may need a drink soon.
I used to sew a lot Denise , especially when DDs were young but haven't done much more than soft furnishings and fancy dress costumes for DGDs for years. I like hand sewing too and embroidery and knitting but I need a project/purpose to get me going. The last thing I did was to cover all my wooden coat hangers.0 -
Evening all
Well i think i had about 300 syns yesterday:eek::rotfl:
Been better today
I used to hand sew for a living, i worked for Aquascutum , i used to sit there and sew for 81/2 hrs a day, at least 8 stitches to the inch!
I have not done any sewing for a long time, i think its cause i don't have anywhere i am able to leave my machine up and time!Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -
I'm fortunate that when we moved away from London we were able to buy a bungalow with enough rooms for both DH and I to have a room each. His is filled up with large carpentery tools - table saw, bandsaw, and various other machines.
I use mine as an office/sewing room. As I don't actually need the desk any more since stopping work I use my old desk as my sewing table and have both my sewing machine and my overlocker on it but I have to keep changing them over to use.
DH keeps promising to make we an L-shaped table so that I can have the sewing machine on one leg and the overlocker on the other - but I'm still waiting, so I'll just carry on as I am. It works OK although a bit frustrating at times.

Wow bubbs.
I used to love their stuff.
Expensive but lasted for years.
In another life.
