Back to the dressmaking chat: my mam used to use Viyella (the fabric) to make my winter dresses. It was a fine wool blend that was soft and washable. More recently it was an expensive brand, like Windsmoor or Precis. You've obviously got expensive tastes beanie . :D

Plans have gone a bit awry here. Visitors are staying another night and we got stuck into board games so just been grazing on nibbles and leftovers and booze . I'm sure proper meals will resume tomorrow. :)

Back to normal from today! Back to the usual stuff like washing. Have changed the bed this morning so bedding now in the WM. Waiting to see what the weather is doing before deciding whether or not to hang it out.

    Today's Green plan:

B - porridge HEB1; frozen mixed fruit; frozen raspberries; frozen cherries S; skinny syrup F
    L - beans on toast - HEB2
D - cheesey rice stuffed squash - wild/white rice F; cheese HEA2; onion, garlic, cherry tomatoes, Savoy cabbage (should be kale but `I haven't got any!) S; various spices, stock F,

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB1 - porridge
    HEB2 - bread

Syns - not sure but may have half a nougat bar 6.5 and a couple of purple Quality Street 5.

Need to pull back a whole half syn from yesterday :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • With you denise. Back on the SW train today :D. Really enjoyed indulging in some treats, but Christmas was very different for me this year, in a good way! Just can’t and don’t want to eat the quantities and kind of food I once did :o. I have put on, no doubt about it, but I also know I can turn things around and I will be a little bit lighter by Tuesday’s WI. Have not even started on the side of smoked salmon in the fridge, will be having some with a salad for dinner tonight and put part of it in the freezer.

Visited Waitrose and Sainsb this morning to get fresh veg and milk, and some reduced :money: xmas cards. Didn’t buy reduced xmas cake and puds :A, did buy more fresh rasp and strawberries :T.

And if anyone can PM me the syn list to go with the PON cookbook, that would be much appreciated, was xmas pressie from No1 son ;).

Have a good day everyone :D.

Is that the new PON book PIB? I haven't got that one so can't help.

If you mean the old one I can do the Syns for those recipes.

Enjoy your smoked salmon! One of my favourite things but don't have it very often. It's usually a treat when we're in France on holiday.

Have been to Icel*nd this morning and stocked up on loads of frozen stuff so shouldn't need any more frozen stuff for a couple of months. Also picked up a chicken & some chicken thighs. The chicken will be frozen whole and I'll divide the thighs up into meal sized portions and freeze.

Off to have some lunch now.

  • It is the first PON book denise, I am a bit behind :rotfl:. Just made some sweet potato wedges in AF for lunch.

Dunno what it is, but feel really positive :D. I guess I remember how I felt this time last year, really not happy with myself. And now, have had some things to eat/drink I hadn’t had for months, and yes enjoyed them, but they’re fine to have as a treat every now and again, not regularly. And surprise surprise, they DID NOT result in me putting 6st back on overnight :D:D:D. I guess I feel in control, if anything, does that make sense? I can so remember my first week of eating SW style, almost one year ago now, I ate lots, ‘bubbs style’, her pix were huge inspiration for me, and at WI lost 8lbs, I was sooooo pleased. And now, I know by going back to eating sensibly I can get rid of the lbs I will have put on over the last week. It may take several weeks even, don’t know, but it will go and that is such an empowering feeling.

Sorry for waffling, just wanted to share in case it helps anyone. SW really works, in case you are wondering :).

I am looking at joining slimming world but struggle to attend a regular meeting, is the online plan best or is it easy enough to do it alone if you buy the books? Thanks in advance :-)

My advice would be to go to one meeting & get the books & all the info. You dont need to go back if it does not suit.
