  • Been to Sainsb, glad that is over LOL. DD decided on Quorn roast for xmas, fine with me, she likes most Quorn things, not had this one before though.

    With you maman, don’t like wasting syns, actually threw out some liquorice my visiting sister had gotten me. Was not the type I had asked for and was not that nice, so in the bin it went. Felt so guilty :o. But not for that long, no point eating it just cos it is there. I can be decisive! Sometimes, :rotfl:.

    Ended up buying a corn fed chicken for roasting for tonight, campfire stew planned for Monday, various leftovers Tuesday, plenty of veg in fridge to be added to all meals. OH sort of marzipanned & iced his xmas cake. Managed to NOT look at the instructions I had left out for him, so forgot to use the jam, and good job it is just him eating it as it now looks a bit of a state :cool:. Not sure about dessert yet for me xmas day, might do something with fruit and merengue nests and yogurt. Kids will just want icecream, OH has his cake. Anyone suggestions for SW friendly festive puds?

    Bubbs what recipe are you using for the pork pie? Let us know if it is any good ;).

    Had lunch of salad, sweet potato crisps from airfryer, boiled egg, and before that some chicken & veg soup out of the freezer. On plan so far today :T.

    PIB, i made it up:rotfl::rotfl:
    I used pease pudding as the pastry seasoned with pepper, greased a 1lb fry lighted loaf tin, then cooked that part first, then i got minced pork, bacon, pepper and mixed herbs mixed altogether, put a layer, then 3 boiled eggs, then covered with rest of meat, then i put pease pudding coating on top and egg washed it.
    It has just come out the oven and i don't think it is going to come out whole:o:rotfl::rotfl:
    I am leaving it too cool and then will try

    The meringue and fruit sounds good for pudding but i will be having xmas pudding :D

    Meringue nests, fruit and yoghurt sounds ideal to me for dessert. With all the other cooking going on I don't think you really want to be cooking or making anything else.

    If you want some low syn ideas try having a look on Lifeline Online, just type in desserts and loads of ideas come up.

    That pie sounds very inventive bubbs . I'm sure it will taste good even if it falls apart.:D

    I'll have a small piece of Christmas pudding too, I like it. My go to pudding for when we have guests is a deconstructed Eton mess. I put out fruit meringues and cream (and yogurt) and let people have what they want.

    I never plate up our dinner Denise when we have a roast. The vegetables go in serving dishes and so nothing gets wasted. So my plate isn't too full but I go back for more. :D
