Today has been much as expected. I've done my best but Speed is a bit thin on the ground.
DD1 and DGD1 came round and it was obvious they'd decided to go home and have pizza delivered later as it's not just her birthday but the last day of term. That suits us fine as we don't like pizza much.
So we had birthday cake but it stopped there.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Ribena, baked beans (F), fried egg, ham (P), HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: veggie omelette (P, S), beetroot (S), cottage cheese, ham (P)sausages, SW chips, baked beans (F), mushrooms, onions (S)
Syns: sausages 1.5, cake, weekend wine

Quiet on here today! Nearly lunchtime and I've only just switched on my laptop.
Have been busy this morning with making a big batch of braised red cabbage for my DD1 which she's asked me to make for Christmas so once it's cooked and cooled I'll bag it up and freeze ready to take up on Christmas Day.
Am also cooking a beef stew at the moment ready to be reheated later for dinner.
All washing washed, dried and put away so I'm pleased about that but of course the wash bin is already filling up again - it's a never ending circle isn't it?
I succumbed to a mince pie last night but just the one thankfully, so well within Syns at 13.
Today's plan:
B - SW fry up - bacon, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans - P, S, F
L - cheese on toast - HEA/HEB
D - beef stew & mash - P, S, F - have made a big panful so hopefully they'll be LOs for lunch tomorrow
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - nothing planned but they're there if I want them

I've had a busy day too. Sorted most of the shopping, just bread and milk to get now. DH and I eat so little bread (he mostly eats pain au lait) that we just toast it straight from the freezer but will need a fresh loaf for turkey sandwiches.
I bought a large swede in Aldi and have just put it on to cook with carrots. I used to do singing swede too bubbs but I seem to have cracked boiling it at last. We'll have a portion of mash tomorrow and I'll freeze the rest as only DH and I like it so it won't be part of Christmas dinner.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Ribena (F), fried eggs, ham (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L: JP, baked beans (F) beetroot, pickled onions (S)HM burgers (P), SW chips (F), onions, asparagus, green beans, tomatoes, mushrooms (S)

Good morning. Dry one here in Bucks, thank goodness, everywhere underfoot is so muddy and wet already. Got a leg of lamb for xmas dinner, waiting for DD to confirm what veggie option she would like. Just had brekkie of omelette with fruit and a yogurt, nice and filling. Quite a challenge with treats in the house, OH off work now, temptation is everywhere! I guess planning is key still. Might get a campfire stew going later. And buy more grapes to snack on.
Next WI is xmas eve morning. I committed to another countdown taking me into January. Not expecting a loss tho on Tuesday but at least if I go and get weighed I am keeping track of things and not going off the rails completely :rotfl:. Gotta remember how far we have come, and a little slack this time of year should be ok. Hope everyone is doing alright

I had a couple of chocolates last night so I think I've decided it's Christmas here, well at least for the weekend. :xmassmile I'm going to try to treat tomorrow as a normal Monday though and then Christmas Eve a few extra syns will be introduced to the menu.
There's nothing I hate more than wasting syns so I'm trying to just have treats that I really enjoy. We're off to a party on Tuesday night but we'll eat beforehand. My friend usually does M&S canapes or cheese. I do think cheese is worth the syns but not so sure about the rest.:(
I'm doing a casserole today as I don't want cold meat left from a roast.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit (F), kippers (P?), HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: veggie omelette (P,S) with pickles (S)beef in 'red wine' (P,S), SW roast potatoes (F), cauli, broccoli, kale, cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, onions, celery, swede & carrot mash, red cabbage (S)
Syns: kippers 1.5, cornflour 1, weekend wine:D
I can't believe the variety of Speed veg I've listed for dinner. Hopefully plenty left for my lunch tomorrow.:)0 -
I had the same thoughts Maman that's why it's just pork steaks rather than a joint. No need for LO meat this side of Christmas. You've got a great selection of Speed veg there, how on earth do you fit it all on your plate, LOL!
I'm going to be cooking a gammon joint to take to DD1s for Christmas Day but will take it ready sliced as my knives are definitely sharper than DD1s! Will leave some here in the fridge for Boxing Day which we'll have with some salad. I've no doubt DD1 will give us some meat to bring home as well. She's cooking a leg of lamb and a beef joint. She had planned on doing a chicken as it's the only meat my DGD eats but she's decided she's having Christmas with her boyfriend's parents which she did last year as well. But she was definitely greedy as his mum cooked dinner for lunchtime and we always eat ours in the evening so they came back to DD2s for a 2nd Christmas dinner!
I assume your beef in 'red wine' is a stockpot the same as mine was, LOL! I always use a beef stockpot as well, makes a really tasty gravy.
I think you're right PIB to WI next week if it'll help you stay on track. I decided before my holiday I wouldn't be going to WI until the new year as I knew with a 2 week AI holiday finishing a week before Christmas it was going to take me out of target! I'm going to weigh at home Christmas morning to see how far out of target I am before starting on all the Christmas food which will be around at DD1s. At least there won't be loads of 'treats' when we get home.
