Welcome Betharooni to the thread. Will call you Beth in future if that's OK!

If you'd like to post your menu plans please feel free. There are quite a few regulars on here and lots of people who are following plan. We're quite good of picking up "mistakes" which can happen when you first start - and even when you've been following SW for a long time!

Today was my final session for the COPD before my holiday and pleased with my reassessment which I had after the group. I managed an extra 100m in the 6 minute assessment. First time was 430 metres; this time 510 metres. The trainers were really pleased with how both DH and I did over the whole course. They've said that if at any time in the future we feel we'd benefit from the course again to just ask our GP or whoever we see for our COPD annual review (which happens to be a couple of the people who were running the course!).

Probably just one more day of posting for me as not sure what the free wifi will be like at the hotel we're staying at so may not be able to post easily.

  • Hi Denise

Beth is fine. Have not yet meal-planned as struggling to pin down my mum and brother to do it but should sort it today and then we’re planning to go shopping tomorrow. Have had a good first couple of days but it should hopefully be even better from tomorrow onwards. Have had lots of salad and fruit (as that’s what we had left in the house), used most if not all of my syns, thoroughly enjoyed a couple of hifi bars (had forgotten how much I like them) and am about to pop to corner shop to get makings of omelette for late lunch and a chocolate bar. Previously have overly restricted myself with what I’m eating and that’s been the reason I’ve struggled so trying to stop that and eat sensible portions with as much speed foods as poss. Will post up meal plans later today for advice if that’s ok...

    Welcome Beth .:)

It's always difficult to get started when you've got to manage with what you have in. As you said, when you've done a meal plan and shop it will be easier. I think planning and Speed food are the two most important things about SW. :)

You're right about not restricting yourself. The plan is a healthy way of eating. It's not a quick fix diet. If you start thinking of it as a diet then you'll give up. Good luck,
and well done for starting now rather than putting it off for the new year. :T:)

I'll be leaving home around 5am:eek: Wednesday morning and back early hours a week before Christmas. Not planning on going back to group until 9 January in the hopes of losing holiday and Christmas gains, LOL!

Thank you both. I'm sure I will - can't wait for a bit of warmth on the old bones!
