  • Hello Denise,

We weigh in the evening I went to the 5:30 group.

I lost another 1.5lbs this week that is 1st 3.5lb off in total

I'm really pleased with the result.

  • Hi everyone, I rejoined slimming just over a week ago and joined the 12 week countdown. First weigh in was two and half pound loss, second weigh in was a gain of one and a half pound. I know what I'm doing wrong, I struggle on the evenings and weekends. Should I save my HEB for the evening so I could have some cereal or toast and should I save some syns for the weekend?:undecided

Good idea to plan ahead for evenings and weekends. There's no problem saving your HEB for the evening. Especially now that we have an extra HEA, you can have cheese and crackers or toast

Lots of us on here save syns for weekends. It's not necessarily the official SW way but it works for us. You have to get used to eating fairly low syn or syn free during the week but I think it's worth it. :D

Welcome PMarie to the thread. It was a good idea to sign up for a 12 week countdown at the start. That's what I did as well. It means you are committed to going or losing money which wouldn't be very MSE!

The plan is very flexible so you need to work out what works best for you. I'm like Maman and tend to have most of my Syns over the weekend and low syn during the week - however that has gone completely to pot this week with not being in control of food and drink the whole weekend so expecting a gain this week but will do my best to pull as much back as possible before WI. If you think saving your HEB for the evening will work for you then go for it; if that doesn't work for you and wish you could have it during the day then do that and perhaps save some syns for the evening or eat eat Free foods like SW hummus with come carrot & pepper sticks or some fruit. You will find a way that suits you.

Today's plan is like the old Green days again although I haven't included the 2nd HEB but it's there for this evening if I want or need it!

B - overnight oats - oats HEB; mixed frozen fruit S; yoghurt; skinny syrup F
    L - leek & potato soup - S; F
D - cheesy rice stuffed squash - squash; onion; garlic; cherry tomatoes S; mixed rice, cardamon seeds; cumin seeds stock F; cheese HEA; pak choi to serve

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB1- oats
    HEB2 - not planned
    Syns - NONE

I think that's exactly the way to look at SW denise. For Most people who don't lose weight it's because they choose a restrictive diet that makes them feel deprived or bored and then they give up.

SW is a healthy, balanced eating plan and because of that treats are limited. I'm sure that's one of the main contributory factors to the obesity crisis. Years ago we only had fizzy drinks, alcohol, sweets, chocolates, take aways etc. on special occasions. Now it's very regular, sometimes every day. So we're never going to be able to have everything we want on SW so we have to prioritise what the treats will be and when we'll have them.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit (F), scrambled eggs (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L: ham, beef (P), fried potato (F) fried veg and pickles (S)
D: baked salmon (P), SW chips (F), cauli steak, broccoli, tomatoes, mushrooms (S)
    Syns: HP sauce 1

  • Welcome Marie!

Pleased to report a 1lb loss today at WI. We had a stand-in consultant which was very refreshing. Will be back to usual next week. I am 5lbs away from having lost 6st now, which should be achievable over the next 4 weeks. As long as I do not get into xmas mode early :rotfl:. I will be hosting several family get togethers beginning of December, but as I am in control of the food, should be no reason to stray off plan ;).

My friend got the SW planner with the Countdown offer recently. I knew she would never use it ;), this week she has given it to me :D. So will have a look at it soon, and will start using it to record food intake etc. Friend is doing great btw, lost 3lbs this week, total of 2st3lbs over 12 weeks I think, so am pleased I encouraged her to come along :o.

Hope we are all keeping warm. Had very fresh dogwalk this morning, not seen the sun all day but at least it was dry. Dark so early now :(. OH away now til Monday. But I should be fine, have plenty of the right foods in to keep me on track.

    Poundsinbucks x :)
    🥳🥳 SW -6st 3.5lbs 🥳🥳

Well done PIB. I find it easier to stick to the plan when DH isn't around! He has a habit of putting alcohol into my diet drinks when I just ask for the mixer! Tonight I asked him to do me a tonic with a lemon slice and bunged a gin in it! So much for no syns today!!!

The other day it was a rum in my ginger beer!

Just glad I'm at target now so not quite such a worry but I would really have liked to be at bottom end by the end of the month! Not likely to happen now with my saboteur!
