  • Well I'm retaining water as I appear to have gained 4 lbs overnight...not even possible-I did have smoked mackerel yesterday which was quite salty-could that be why??

Our bodies can do strange things TMD. And too much hopping on the scales is really not a good idea as things fluctuate so much over the course of a week due to all sorts of things like TOTM, amount you eat/drink and what sorts of food you eat. If you stick to the plan things will even out and you should see a loss every week. Did you syn the smoked mackrel? Seem to remember it is NOT free, but dunno for sure without looking it up.

Keep at it and you will lose :T.

    🥳🥳 SW -6st 3.5lbs 🥳🥳
  • Well, having oversynned a bit on Friday & Saturday, now in recovery for rest of week. Going to do SP days so have planned it all out, well did have! Actually wrote a list of everything I needed to take into work today, starting off with quark & strawberries, melon and other speed for breakfast. Note to self, when writing a list, make sure to read it! All the fruit prepped for brekkie, opened fridge for quark, ehh, in my fridge at home:mad:

So just had a huge bowl of fruit, all speed:D This had better not be am omen for my week:eek:
A smile costs little but creates much :)

Agree PIB - your weight can change over the course of the day as well as during the week. I don't often jump on the scales but after a particularly synful weekend where I had no control over the food I did this morning.

You are definitely right about the smoked mackerel - it is 2 Syns per 100g so not particularly high syn. I can never understand why it is synned as no other smoked fish is.

Welcome pickles to the thread. Definitely worth getting the magazine for the free joining offer. Also if you ask someone who is going into the venue if they'd take you in then they can also get a free week unless of course you're planning on going with a current member of that group anyway.

If you have any particular SC recipe that you currently use if you let us know what it is we can make it as SW friendly as possible - a lot of recipes are syn free or low syn anyway so no need to change the food you eat massively - unless your problem is with sweet stuff as that is difficult to continue to eat!

Welcome pickled. Good to have you join us and just ask any questions you like and we'll try to help. I use my SC for batch cooking, mainly Bolognese and chilli. It's always good to have a HM ready meal in the freezer then you're not tempted to get a take away or buy a synful ready meal.

I haven't totted up my weekend syns yet but as I had an alcohol free Friday:eek: then I shouldn't have done too badly. I'm using a few today and that's probably all I'll need until Thursday WI.:)

We don't have any scales at home so I'm never tempted to keep checking. Last week my GP weighed me and that was wrong anyway so I'm sticking to how my clothes feel and the SW scales. :)

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit (F), HEB toast, HEA milk, 2 fried eggs (P)
L: beef, ham (P), fried potato (F), fried veg and pickled cabbage (S)
    D: chicken (P) stir fry (S) with noodles (F)
Syns: HP sauce 1, honey 2.5

ETA: I checked and by tonight I'll have used about 80 syns out of the 90 I've got for a 6 day week. Probably won't use them either so just keeping my fingers crossed.

Haven't had liver for ages bubbs. Won't be getting any soon as menu plan sorted until we go away at the beginning of December! Will definitely think about putting some on the menu in the New Year.

When we get back from holiday I will need to do another menu plan until the end of the year so just a couple of weeks but want to try and use up some of the stuff that's still in the freezer.

:T Well done on your loss mummy R . That's a good steady amount. I averaged 1.5lbs a week getting to target.

My DH went off liver and then surprised me by ordering it in a restaurant. I must buy some more. Not sure if they sell it in Aldi. I'll have to look.
