Afternoon all,
Just having a cuppa and catching up with you all while tea is cooking. Thanks for all your good wishes for Adam. He had a good day at school and is really glad to be back. He got home, had lunch and went into his room and the next thing I heard was snoring! He's really looking forward to going again tomorrow.
Essex girl, I hope your dd got on ok at the hospital and that you all had a lovely day in London.
mrs mix, it's good to hear that you're recovering well.
stefejb, I'm glad your dd is feeling better.
shez, sorry you had such a horrible time at the jobcentre this morning.
taplady, you must have been dreadfully shocked by ds's accident. I hope he's ok and that they catch the person who caused the accident.
Donny-gal, Your son looks very handsome! He and his girlfriend look like a lovely couple. I'm sure you were so proud on his graduation day.
Pooky, welcome back! I'm glad you're getting settled.
mioliere, I'm glad the dentist went ok.
thriftmonster, At least the cake turned out well in the end. I think you deserve that glass of wine!
Right, I'd better go and get into my uniform. Have a lovely evening everyone.

Evening All
Taplady - glad DS is ok, we too live in the country and the way some people drive on country roads is terrible.
Thanks All for the well wishes for DD - her specialist saw her on time but Southend hospital who referred her didnt send scan results which he really needed, result is we have to go back in March, have her scanned and xrayed there and then he will be able to decide what action is to be taken. No wonder the NHS is always in trouble.
Went to Hamleys first and it was quite empty so was able to have a good look round at everything, been there before in the school holidays and you cant move. Must admit wasnt that impressed with any of the window displays in Regent Street - remember going with my Nan when I was little just to look in the windows.
Didnt eat in London this evening as we were in and out of the hospital so quickly we were able to get a train home before the rush, so had chinese takeaway when we got home.
Am totally exhausted now and will definately be having an early night. Lots to do tomorrow to catch up.

donny-gal thats a photo to be proud of, your ds and his girl friend
pink glad Adam got on fine today0 -
Thanks, Twink. I think the only reason I kept going rather than hurling the whole d*mn lot at the kitchen wall was the thought that it would rather spoil someone's wedding if there was no cake - I'm sitting here now just desperately hoping it was ok - and because dh is the bridegroom's PhD supervisor, they certainly won't tell me if it wasn't, IYSWIM.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Hi Everyone
Well have been away this weekend and things really going on here! Apologies if I don't mention everyone -quite hard catching up.
First off - Twink - Happy birthday and don't let that wee beesom up the road cause you trouble (add even more years to Kyle's age - we don't mind!!!!)! Nice to see Squish posting today for you too. Kyle - hope all OK with you and the boys.
Taplady - so sorry to read about your son. A really horrid scary moment and hopefully you can all move on! Thank goodness for that hedge.
Pink, well, your DD is just absolutely fab. I think you feel as proud as I did with my DD. If you had seen her on her wedding day when I was a wreck and she just totally radiated and was beautiful - well! Hope Adam did OK today. He sounds a wee grounded guy. Hope that wayward sister of yours and her family doing fine!
We are having all three boys next weekend! DGS3 now 20 weeks, just started his solids, one taste a day, feeding about 6.30 then a wee top up about 10 pm and up about 7.00. Hope he does that at the weekend when he is going to have to drink Cow & Gate! He gets his solids at lunchtime - baby rice so far. Do you think by Christmas Day he will be on the full dinner! He just was totally taken with Grandad Broon yesterday - couldn't take his eyes off him and so happy watching the football (Gretna and Hearts) with him!
Love and hugs to you all.

evening all!
DS seems to be ok now thankyou all xx no news from the police yet about whether they've found the other driver - they probably wont work overtime on it as no-one was hurt. I've got over the shock but it had played havoc today with my IBS:rolleyes:
Astonsmummy - I hope you soon recover from your accident
Grannybroon - thats what my Mum said, thank goodness it wasn't a wall!
Donny-gal - a great photo of your handsome lad!
off to give the dogs a quick walk before Celeb comes on!
TTFN xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Evening everyone :hello:
:bdaycake: :bdaycake:
Happy birthday twink
Pink - your DD and friends look stunning! Really good news about Adam too.
taplady - big (((hugs))) to you, your DS and the rest of your family.
My voice is definitely back! Hurrah hurrah! Just in time to start the nativity play rehearsals. My class are doing the "talking" bits. Some of them are superb, others just look as if they've never been asked to speak EVER before now.
DH has done me proud. It's his dad's birthday at the weekend, and he (FIL) has just got a new car. DH has bought him lots of bits and pieces for a car cleaning kit. He told me that he wants to find a nice box to put them all in. How about that! All the ideas of doing a hamper, seem to have worn him down but he actually thinks that he had the original idea. I'll let him believe what he wants to believe
Right, it's just time for that Monarchy programme which looks quite good....

Hi Thrift
Just read about the cake. What a star you are - you did your best. We had a bit of a disaster with my DD's wedding cake. Dear friend baked two sponges and bottom layer fruit cake and we forgot to let hotel know which was fruit cake and which was sponge! Upshot was fruit cake put out for guests, no sponge and for the two or three days after wedding we were running around giving away huge portions of beautiful sponge cake to friends and rellies!
Our fault totally!!!!!!!!
