Thankyou. I've spent hrs upon hrs putting house back together but once it's done I will cope so much better.
I had my council tax rebate sent through today. Against my better judgement I have actually used it for what it's meant for and paid my gas and electricity bill. I did toy with idea of debts or savings and not letting it gin interest for the utilities company bur it the end I've made payment, it's done and dusted and can be forgotten about. And if we all get that 200 loan not loan in oct I'm sure it will stand me in good stead for winterJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Weekly meter readings. Best week yet, mainly as sun is shining. 34 pounds spent. The gas is weather dependant but I'm sure the electricity I could save on. 25 this week for electricity. I just gone all technical and read the online manual for my washing machine. If I've read it right it's a kwh per cycle on average. Perhaps if I reduce that by a couple of washes that would be better and prevent a house full of laundry in winter!Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

I often don't shower on days that I'm not going out, and wash at the sink instead. Still clean but less water and energy!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Went shopping today despite this months budget having gone a bit haywire. I was at the good old aldi and everything is 10, 15 20 pence more than 6 months ago. People around me in the shop were obviously more aware of what they were spending to. Lots of deliberating and discussions of what they already had in, shall we wait till next week etc. More worringly was the food Bank collection point only had 4 things in it. Hopefully they had only just bagged it up to pass on??
Otherwise weather is good but intermittent rain so house islike a laundry. I need a stay I and clean up weekend but 3 things planned this weekend with the kids needing to be places so cant see that happening!Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

It's just crazy, everything's just going up week on week isn't it.
I'm desperate for a stay in weekend too, but doesn't seem like it's happening any time soon!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
No set times to be anywhere today thankfully so need to do boring housework homework and washing. 22.50 on electricity this week and 6 pounds on gas so not bad considering the standing charges 🤔Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

What a difference a day makes. Or a few rather since I last posted. My phone went kaput. A family situation means I don't want to be without so ran out and bought a new one from Argos 10 minutes before closing so all was well. Perhaps paid slightly over odds compared to searching for a deal but needs must.
We are also being moved onto universal credit. That's a palaver but we seemed to have ticked the boxes and done all the actions needed so it's a case of wait and see now. I'm slightly worried in that we are moving over in a month where the kids have a 2 week half term so less childcare and other half has done 2 days over time so we might not qualify. Over the years average we would qualify but I think this is more reactive to your circumstances each month, but honestly I'm not sure as it's a new thing for us. And typically it might mean we miss qualifying for the money from Rishi by one day
We would rather be self sufficient but until then it plays havoc with the budget planning. On a more grown up note we have finally pooled the money into a joint bills account which will then send spends/petrol to our ind accounts each week. The big budget shows we are running at a deficit unfortunately so need to work on that. I reckon if I monitor it over next few months we will have a better idea and I can get back on track. Until then I'm gonna be transferring 140 a week for food shop and petrol and the rest is staying put in the bills accountWish me luckJan 18 Joint debts 35,213
