Hope the work is finished soon.  That would be annoying with the coming and going.

Very annoying. Oh took daybed work to have it out with him today. He turned up at 12.30 after ringing last night and asking for half the money. This has a few zeros in it and qas supposed to take 4 days. We are on day four and perhaps 25% done. And the answer to money was a erm no not yet especially not half

Day off work that should say ha ha. My phone is cracked so it's creating words. It's on the list to go to a repair shop for fixing. Somehow some day!!

Just in case any contractors read this I get the importance of paying throughout the job when other costs are involved but half for 3 lots of 2 or 3 hr days was a huge red flag considering the work remaining

I have a builder like this currently, only turning up for hour or 2 at a time, and having to chase him to find out when he is next coming back.  Now waiting on one last but very vital thing after what should have been no more than a weeks worth taking 2 months so far.  I feel your pain

Oh no slm its such a nightmare isn't it. I hope it gets sorted for you soon. Honestly our building and structural work was so good, I can recommend them all night long but this bit is not going well. I think the builders spoilt us with a good and fair work ethic!
We did have words and he is coming at weekend so hopefully this was a starting blip

We are winning, we have lots of tidying up and little snagging jobs to do bit but we will have a sink again within the next 24 hrs as well as a cooker and a hob. Yay!!! And that part of the house is looking very nice if I do so say myself.

Budget wise, still one big bill to pay out for but we have money aside. We ended up using the cards as well for things we had to replace/extra labour and things we forgot about. I will know the true damage in the next week or so. Then it will be back to the mantra of every day the debt will go down alongside getting the savings bumped up again.
