Aw, Shirley hope you feel better soon. I swear by toast and jam, but mashed potato sounds good too. Or some roast potato's? Try and get some of those re-hydration sachets, don't think your appetite comes back until your not so dehydrated. I've been drinking iron bru, most folk swear by it for a hangover so it's worth a try!

  • Hi all, I'm full of beans this evening and going to make the most of it/wear myself out for the rest of the week. Once I've finished this cuppa..

Looks like you've been busy bees today; a copable number of posts for me to get through but my thanks button stopped working at one point, sorry to those I had to miss.
Hugs to Shirleypark and other poorlies and Pigpen for the trials of teenagers. Rach, thanks for asking, yeah, I've turned a bit of a corner mentally I think with this one and things seem to be flowing nicely. I think some of it was to do with me having spent a long time on my own and enjoying it, I almost resented him from coming into my life, poor lad. Still learning his little ways but he's a good 'un.

Off to do the hall first, start with the easy jobs so I don't get dispondent. The livingroom is grotty and all the sofa covers need washing but maybe not tonight.
I've booked 2 days off next week which will be my last in December so I need to get the house straight this week so I don't spend gift shopping time doing domestic stuff.

If you catch me on here (or facebook) before 9 give me a telling off please?

  • Hello everyone, remember me????

Missed all the chat and company on this fab thread, but the past month has been hideous and stress levels went through the roof.

DH's dad is still in hospital, been there since mid August, just waiting for a care home space to become available.
I am now working 4 days a week isntead of 3 and it's meant a change in my routines which I'm struggling with being a creature of habit. When the house isn't sorted I don't feel in control. What does that say about me I wonder?!

Then I had a scare when I found a couple of lumps in my breast and had to wait 2 weeks for the scan. I know 2 weeks isn't long, but it dragged by and I was just on auto pilot for that time. Thankfully one turned out to be a fatty lump and the others were cysts. V scary time.

Things were just about settling down last week and my dad was taken to hospital at the weekend because he collapsed and couldn't breathe proeprly. He has asbestosis and is poorly anyway, so last few days spent on trips to hospital and restless nights not sleeping very well. He was allowed home today whic is fab news.

Oh and I nearly forgot about the incident with the neighbours 10yr old son who pinned our 7yr old against a wall and was going to wallop him and when we complained it was us who had the problem!

I have been kind of flying whilst away from the boards, but I need a serious reorganisation.

AnW's mum- impressed you've started card writing. Must get my overseas ones done.
Hugs to those feeling poorly or who have poorly LO's.
sexymouse- good luck with job application
pigpen- hope all was ok earlier with DS and the lock/door business.

Hi to newbies and is there anything really important I've missed?
    Great to be back.
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

My list is done! :j well, dinner dishes to be done, buy hubby can damn well do them!

Dusty Windows will take 3 days to be installed. Then a day or two to get cought up with the flying. had to get all that done today so they can actually get in to the house to put the windows in! LOL!

tinselfairy Sounds like you have had a real rough time of it, hope things are starting to pick up.

I am off for a bath... oh, actually I have to drag hubby up as there are boxes sitting in the bath to go up the loft first... THEN I am going for a nice long soak in the bath, one I smell really bad and two I deserve it, have not worked this hard in ages! :rotfl:

    Maybe have a :coffee: first?
  • Hi tinselfairy - sorry you have had such a rough time of it recently, but i am sure you will feel a bit better for being back in the chat and routine.

shirley - sorry you are feeling grotty. It can take a while to feel better, but perhaps some lucozade or lots of carbs to get your energy back up.

veggies peeled for dinner. Got some turkey steaks that have a lemon coating and we are going to have them with sweet potato, carrot and parsnip. Not doing anything flash with that but will get it going once DH is in. I hope it is soon as i have demolished a pack of bourbons today while feeling peckish and then had to have an afternoon snooze on the sofa with charlie

got charlie to bed, but he is still awake half an hour later. i might have to start keeping him up a bit later or forcing him to stay awake longer in the day.

i am not overly fond of this part of the day - no energy to do anything until food is down my neck, and no idea when DH will be in usually. Should try and do something useful like start sorting out the work for school perhaps. I got away with not sending any for today as the school was closed for a burst pipe again, but no such luck for tomorrow.

don't know how tomorrow will pan out. Charlie should be having the MMR jab, but i don't know if it is worth taking him as will they give it him with his cough the way it is? Will see how i feel tomorrow. May be worth it to see as it would then be done.

Anyway, off to think about the work i will send perhaps, and that is a step closer to sending it.

    Michelle, x

Michelle, they won't give him the MMR until he is 7 days 'healthy', 7 days after the cold has gone. Cancel it, or take him along to get him checked out.

Tinsel fairy - hugs to you, two weeks is a long time when you're worried about lumps and i'm really pleased it's turned out to be ok.

Shirleypark - hope you're feeling better soon, I had that bug starting last Friday and felt bleughhh with it. Rest and you'll get better much quicker.

Little Miss Saver - you're ordered to rest too, bed nice and early with a hot water bottle and a good book. Get well soon everyone xx
