  • Morning (just) all. Not sure what I'll manage today but I will try my best - honest!

Tuesday - Lovely Living Rooms and Safe Stairs
    Level One
Vacuum floors in these areas, even if around clutter
    Clear anything from the stairs!
    Level Two
Move things so you can vacuum under them
Vacuum and wipe (if needed) sofas
Dust any areas below eye level
    Level Three
Dust anything above eye level (if safe to do so)
Clear anything that shouldn't be where it is, should the magazines really be on the floor?
Extra Mission Tasks - as usual if you fancy tackling something else you could try one or more of these
    • Clean windows in these areas, check curtains/nets/blinds while you are there, do they need a clean?
    • Check you have your Christmas card list done, if it's not done at least spend 10 minutes on it
    • Spend 15 minutes sorting paperwork, dealing with anything urgent NOW
    • 27 Fling Boogie, you know the routine, grab a bag and clear that clutter!
    • Clean out the vacuum cleaner, empty the bag/bucket, clean filters if they are washable MAKE SURE YOU DON'T PUT THEM BACK UNTIL THEY ARE DRY!

Michelle, might be worth having a look in the £ shops or similar, maybe get a little cheap tool set or builders hat (wish I'd thought have just taken 2 to charity shop) they had lots of little things like that last time I was in, tool belts with tools, maybe even a toy digger, doesn't have to be expensive, pop the vouchers inside and wrap them in that. That's what I would probably do, lik ethe spa vouchers I got last year I wrapped round a small spa set just made of a few pampering items like mini facial scrubs, foot treatments etc (several of which were freebies) gave them something for then aswell I suppose.

Why is it when I have loads to do I start something else? Just stupidly went up to put some of the laundry on airers and ended up deep cleaning the bathroom, I just can't seem to start something and finish it lately. Bits here and there never seem to get me anywhere.
One day I might be more organised...........

Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
  • lil_me I was going to suggest getting a little digger or something similar to go with it.

Several hours of studying done this morning. *yawn* it's so boring, I'd forgotten what studying was like.

Also cleaned out the boys cage - hurrah. Was overdue as I haven't been well for the last couple of days and was getting rather smelly.

  • What a brilliant thread!:T

I'm quite new and it takes a while to find your way round this site doesn't it and I've got some great tips (now on cash back CC and planning a few other MS strategies :money: ), but I feel like I've come home on the Old Style forum.

I currently don't work as I'm a (mature) student and like ShirleyPark I'm in the middle of revision for exams next week, so I'm a little distracted from the housework. But she's right - you can't study 12 hours a day straight.

But since I don't work and my OH has been totally supportive throughout this studying lark, I really feel sometimes I let my side of the bargain down by not quite keeping up with things occasionally.

So off I go now with renewed vim and vigour and Star drops to make the place sparkle, especially for Chrimbo as we're entertaining a bit too.

    Thanks all!
    WS100

PS - can I ask a daft question - the 'thanks' button - does it count towards a star or something. Lovely peeps have thanked me for my lame contributions, so obviously I do the same. Or is this place just full of lovely polite people - for that reason alone I'm staying... if you'll have me of course :D

THOSE WITH GROWN UP BOYS.... PLEASE tell me they get better.. I can't take much more from mine before I hoik him out on his @rse... he is being a total complete uter unadulterated f***wit.. he thinks because he is now 16 he can do exactly as he pleases and TBH if I was allowed I'd probably have hoiked him otu before now.. I REALLY look forward to the day he moves out.. and if one more person says *it is a phase* I may be forced to kill them.. it isn't a phase he is just simply not a nice person.

Hubby is currently removing the lock from his bedroom door.. privacy has to be earned by showing you are adult enough to be entrusted with it.. hence the lock goes.. if he still carries on.. the door is off!!.. ARGH!!!!!!!! In a word....

If you hear yelling emanating from the ether... it will be him and hubby tonight.. I'll just go out!

    Hi Pigpen

Between the ages of 15 and 19 DS1 almost drove us insane. He drank, smoked dope, stole from his baby brother's money box and my purse, - he even once smashed his fist through a door inches from my head whilst I was holding the baby . He stayed out all night, wouldn't go to school/college/get a job............in fact a complete nightmare :eek::eek: ............BUT he is now 29, has a job - nothing fantastic but enough to be buying a house with 3 friends, and is a pleasure to have around. There IS light at the end of the tunnel but I SO sympathise with what it must be like for you right now - and it's so much harder when you have younger ones too. I do hope things get better soon.

Now - since I am actually posting (as opposed to lurking) on the flylady thread, I'll list my doings so far today

Been to work for 3 hours
    made bed
    cleaned bathroom and loo
    swished and swiped kitchen
cooked breakfast ( am I the only person with a family who hate cereal?)
    washed kitchen floor
been to post office to collect parcel
read 3 chapters of "Larkrise to Candleford"
ate lunch (and sundry other bewteen meal naughties :o)

this afternoon I planned to do some sewing, and bake some cakes......but the package I just collected from post office is a book I've been waiting for.....Oooh I LOVE books....think I'll start reading that instead and shove some jacket potatoes in oven for dinner.......;)

Hi everyone, hope everyone is well.

So far today i haven't done much as wee man isn't well again, very sleepy and clingy (he's on my knee at the minute), not a word out of him just hug's.

Right nearly time to lift other 2 and find out how he got on today, hopefully he'll be better behaved.

Now onto a 30 minute challege with DS2 atacted to my hip.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.
