I don't know when boys get better pigpen, mine is much better now he doesn't live at home (he's 25) but I really miss him. When he's here for more than a couple of days he still drives me nuts, but I miss him when he's gone. No pleasing me!

Thanks Polly.. the only thing I would miss DS1 for is that my life would be so much LESS stressful and MORE peaceful... he on his own is worse than all 7 of the others.. and always has been.. am I allowed to say I really dislike him?? If he was anyone elses I'd loathe him!! When we've been away without him it is so nice not having his constant aggrovation and I do enjoy it.. he is on about 6th form college at the moment which means I have him for another 2 years.. I might leave home!! lol.. I would happily pay for him to live in student accomodation but then I KNOW he would end up in huge amounts of bother.. financial, alcohol and possibly drug related.. Is it too late for a termination??? I asked hubby the other day if he thought DS1 would be different had a different sperm fertilised the egg.. lol.. which makes it completely unreasonable that he is as he is!!

The lock is now off his door.. so he will be hysterical tonight and I am getting stomach ache thinking about it!!

Pigpen, I really don't know what to say, if I say oh he'll be fine in a few weeks I would be lying, teenagers in general are just horrid in 90% of cases I think, I know I was an awful teen. Very rarely it strikes me that a teenager is lovely then when you talk to their parents, hmm, ok they just seem nice. Maybe university should start at GCSE level, they could live out from then, so they become someone elses problem. Actually do men ever grow out of the teen phase? My partner had several tantrums last night while shopping (he wanted to go, I was happy to leave him here!)

Right, well, not a lot done so far, have got the boys to school, DS2 moaned every step of the way, got there just as the bell went. Came back and walked the dogs, got very wet legs off the grass & mud, left hiking boots outside for now will deal with them later. First load of laundry hung outside, might air dry a little, second load is in. Got DP up and made his breakfast etc so he's fed, watered and quiet in his garage.

    Need to

My son wasn't toooooo bad when he was a teenager - not perfect obviously but bearable. It was a couple of years after he left home that he went through a bad patch and I felt so helpless knowing he was struggling and being unable to do anything. Luckily he had good friends around him who dragged him through it and he seems almost OK. I know he has got issues still but he seems prepared to put up with them for now.

It seems odd that when he was younger I had visions of him being at home for ever, one of those who are still living with Mum when they are middle aged, and I didn't want that for him. But I didn't really want him to end up living 200 miles away either.....

I thought he would end up living nearer one day, but he is in the process of buying a flat up near where he is based so I suppose that's it now.

Oh, and the Asda shopping has been delivered and it's all put away. I appear to have ordered 5 litres of tomato juice and I don't even like tomato juice........it was suppose to be orange but I've checked my printout and I ordered tomato. Must have pressed the wrong button. Damn! Hope somebody else will drink it. If I tell DH it prevents cancer he'll probably drink it;)

Ah well, as long as he's happy with his life and he keeps in touch I must just be glad for that.

It's very true that absence does make the heart grow fonder.
  • Morning everyone.

Tried to get on from about 8:30 this morning, but between site playing up and charlie being mardy and clingy i have not managed.

pigpen hugs to you - i don't know what to suggest, but hope it goes ok this evening. Think back to how you felt yesterday with DS2 doing so well, so it isn't your fault, but that doesn't help you deal with it. Sometimes people aren't nice, and if we are related to them it makes it harder to deal with. I can say though my brother was a pain last year while doing gcses, and is much nicer now he has got onto the mechanics course and got a weekend job and a nice girlfriend. Maybe he is unhappy about something and he is taking it out on you lot, or perhaps he will grow up and act more maturely very soon.

my morning has been s-l-o-w !
    • I have manged to whip the hoover round the living room and dining room, really need to do the kitchen too so i may do that in a second.
    • changed lots of smelly nappies - why do antibiotics loosen everything up? and why does it have to smell so bad - one made me throw up yesterday, and i thought i was well past that stage in this pregnancy.
    • got us both fed and dressed
    • opened and dealt with post
    • put charlie down for a nap
    • peeled some veg for us to have with some leftover pie for lunch
    • one load through the WM with washing up towels/dish/table wiping cloths as that won't be helping the germ spreading in the house
    • sorted out a load upstairs of charlie white stuff (vests/socks) to put in later today when i can bring it down without hauling a child with me.
Just made myself a cuppa and had a mince pie to boost the old blood sugar. Diggerland voucher came in the post so another thing to nicely wrap as at the minute it was a leaflet and a voucher - no nice pack or anything - i had to pay 3.something just for that. Might make a card and put piccies of diggers on it or something like that.

Anyway, onwards to ring the nursery, pay the bills i didn't get round to yesterday as i was knackered by the time i got charlie in bed, and finish off lunch so i only need to quickly blast it in the MW when he wakes up.

Have a nice day whatever you are doing.

    Michelle, x
