    I don't.

I didn't suggest setting up payments.

However, if there are no payments in or out and no balance on the account, how do you know the switch has completed successfully?

That may not be important if all you're doing is tidying up unused accounts, but could be crucial if you're doing it for an incentive:cool:

With this one it's pretty easy if you haven't got the incentive within a few days as you get it before the switch even completes.

Excuse my ignorance, but is it possible to open an account with one of my existing banks and then immediately use it to do the switch?

Can you tell I'm still a bit new to all this lol

    Yes that's possible.

In the past, when switching incentives were prolific, there were occasional reports of posters having accounts closed if they did this repeatedly with the same bank. Doing it a couple of times shouldn't be a problem.

    Brilliant, thank you very much

I fully believe a reasonable number of people in this thread have been using the downgraded Club Lloyds account as their main account. In this case you probably do not like to divert all of your DDs to the newly open CL account if there is a way of avoiding it.

    The question here is that
When is the earliest time you could do the downgrading of your Newly open CL account and then upgrade your Classic Lloyds to become CL again ?

I tend to do it after the cooling off period has passed and the switching process has been completed.

Any other opinion, suggestion, critics will be very much appreciated.
  • When Barclays were offering their switching deal (maybe a year ago?), I ended up with an additional current account due to the Blue Rewards error? and used this to switch, so it is possible. Account was of no use to me, or so I thought, but it was as a switching donor.

  • Been accepted and filled in forms several times, despite the "you can't apply again for 30 days" error, but they still haven't sorted the hidden continue button, so can never complete. :(

Yes, I know about the TAB key trick, but don't have one on the iPad and only desktop I have gets errors due to old OS and browser. :(

Might see if I can borrow a laptop or something, as they don't seem to be interested in fixing the hidden button problem. :(

Could this work ?? Has anyone tried it ?

After the New Club Lloyds Account is opened, switching is completed, cooling off period has passed, you downgrade your New Club Lloyds account. You then apply for a new club Lloyds again and switch your donor account to get another incentive ??

I do not see any condition that will prevent people to apply for a new Club Lloyds again and do switching again for an incentive ? So what will prevent people of getting another incentive ??

It's limited to one offer per customer. So unless you can find a way of appearing to be more than one customer ;) you won't be paid another.

    Tease! ;)

The downside of course is the possibility of a closure of all LBG accounts.

How do new Lloyds customers verify their ID? Can this be done online or must one take ID documents into branch to be verified?
