Sorry for being absent again, Christmas is definitely in full swing and the combination of lack of sleep and too much booze means that forming coherent sentences is beyond me most of the time :rotfl:

Cranky I hope all's going well with your OH

Brambling I'm glad your sister's out of hospital and well done for biting your tongue. I know how much of a worry it must be that she's not looking after herself but, unfortunately, we can't make people do anything if they don't want to, no matter how much they know it's for their own good.

Frugalina Well done on another impressive loss :T

Blue Doggy Commiserations on the gain. At least you were brave enough to get on the scales. I overslept so didn't have time on Friday and have been putting it off since then as I'm rather worried about just how bad the damage is going to be :o
  • Good evening everyone :)

FrugalLina thank you :) Congratulations on your super loss and reaching significant milestones :j:j:j.

Brambling I’m glad your sister’s out of hospital, and hope she’ll soon be fully recovered, and hopefully ready to tackle her weight.

Izadora good to see you back :). If I don’t do regular weighing I’ll totally give up. :(

Have been a bit down today (no idea why) and have scoffed two small boxes of chocolates.:mad::(:o (Bad Doggy!) There are now none left, and no more will be bought.

    Proper grub was
    B: porridge
L: 2 fried eggs with mixed veg
D: veg soup, cauliflower bolognaise, cinnamon yogurt

Well done FrugalLina :T:T that's a great loss, not just for this week but your total loss to date

Good to see you back izadora :)

Blue Doggy I understand eating when you've feeling a bit down, I've eaten the chocolates given to me last week over the last couple of days and I didn't really like them so not sure why other than they were there

I would love to say my sister was having one last blowout before trying to lose weight but I've heard she had fish and chips Saturday and sausages and chips yesterday  she said in the New Year she may go SW again we will see, she's a grown woman and as we all known it's something you have to want to do yourself and even then it's difficult, being told you have to do it doesn't make it any easier

I was cheered up tonight, cuddles from next door's kitten :D it seems it got out this morning he's 18 weeks and ended up being left out all day in the rain, he was so friendly and loud and upset my cat by chasing him around the garden until he hid. :) I couldn't have him indoors and he cried on my doorstep until I went back out and cuddled him for 15 minutes in the rain until they got home. My boy has been upstairs sulking all evening, I was hissed at for smelling of the kitten when I came back in and picked him up :rotfl:

    B - porridge and fruit
L - LO Nasi Goreng (from Saturday)
D - lunch was a large portion so dinner was a apple and some cheese
S - 2 biscuits and the rest of the chocolates (now finished)

  • Thank you Izadora, BlueDoggy and Brambling. :A

Izadora, I am glad you are still here, despite the seasonal excesses, it gets a bit mad at work and then all the social stuff - it is quite exhausting.

BlueDoggy, oh dear, chocolate in the house would be quite dangerous for me too, I am also one of those people who can't control myself, so I won't have any at all unless someone buys me some this Christmas.

Brambling, how lovely to cuddle next door's poor cold wet kitty and LOL at the resident cat being all huffy. Cats are so funny. :rotfl:

    hello folks x
Still following your progress with interest well done on the losses and STS and keep positive to those that have gained x
Im going back to the hair dresser today as one of my medications has had a dramatic effect on my hair and I have had to have a totally different way of doing my hair I am gutted as my hair was one of the only things I was interested in - however `i feel I always did my hair. I have a lovely hairdresser have had her for over 20 years so Im sure she will help me get to grips with it. Darling husband is taking me and is going to watch too so he can help me.
Anyway enough of my warbling keep going x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Blue Doggy Sorry you've been feeling down and I hope things are looking better today. I totally sympathise with eating chocolate when you're fed up. Even though I know that it's not actually going to make anything better I still wander round the house eating everything in sight when I'm unhappy.

Brambling Bless next door's kitten. I hope the resident cat's got over the humpiness of you smelling of another cat.

Molly I hope all goes well at the hairdresser's. I'm always in awe of people who can and bother to do something with their hair. I've got very straight hair that doesn't respond well to being styled so I just leave it be the majority of the time.

  • Good evening everyone :)

Brambling, FrugalLina, Izadora thank you very much for your support :A. I’ve sort of got a bit of a grip today, and things moodwise are looking up, hoping for more progress tomorrow. Not even thinking about weighing in on Sunday.

Brambling I hope your (own) cat has got over his huff today, but how lovely to have kitten cuddles. Is it the same with cats as it is with dogs? Puppies while very young have what’s called “puppy licence” where adult dogs let them get away with all sorts of naughtiness (pouncing, swinging on tails, etc.) without being smacked.

Molly how did you get on at the hairdresser’s today? I hope they found you a style you can love.

When I looked at the ingredients list for the chox I scoffed yesterday I could see they were mostly multiple cheap sugars and processed oils, which I find quite toxic in an addictive sort of way, if you know what I mean.

    Today’s more balanced menu:
    B: porridge
L: beef hotpot, tinned pears with ginger
D: veg soup, lamb casserole with green beans & broccoli, pears and yogurt
Also: two glasses of low-alcohol wine and two pieces of 85% dark chocolate.

Molly what a lovely OH to go along and learn how to help with your hair :)
Hope everyone is ok and not getting too stressed in the run up to Christmas!
I’ve lost another 1lb this week. Am only just starting to feel human again after being laid low with an awful cold/flu type bug. Unfortunately this means my appetite is slowly returning so I need to avoid the choccies and biccies - at least until Xmas Eve!

Blue Doggy I'm glad things are looking up and don't worry about Sunday. I know what you mean about the chocolate ingredients, it does seem that cheap fats and sugars are far more addictive than good quality ingredients. I've never known whether it's what they put in them or the quantity I manage to eat that makes me feel ucky.

Bfh Well done on the loss, even if it wasn't under ideal circumstances. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better and best of luck with avoiding the festive temptations.
