  • Good evening everyone :)

SIRENS well done! :j A little in the right direction is all right! You’re right about our furry loves. :) Is your sugar-offering manager related to Brambling’s? Good for you avoiding the new eatery, there’s definitely no such thing as a (calorie) free lunch!

Brambling ah yes, it’s the pleading eyes, every time . Sounds as though your day was productive. :)

FrugalLina :T for getting back on track, and for your bike ride, especially in this weather! Take care of yourself.

Went to a talk this morning, so since I was near the supermarket I did my shopping as well, saves going there tomorrow. Otherwise an uneventful day.

    Down the hatch today went:
    B: porridge
    S: mince pie (at talk)
L: fish fingers, mixed vegetables, apple
D: spinach soup, tomato omelette with salad, cinnamon yogurt
“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”

Well done Sirens :T. A loss is a loss :)

I managed a STS this week which is probably more than I deserve  but I'm happy it's not another gain

Work Christmas lunch tomorrow, I've declined a lift as my colleague gets into work really early and I've no wish to be up and out by 7am, I don't mind not drinking at work lunches, I've seen people take a year to have drunken behaviour forgotten by the rest of the office and no wine is less calories :D

There were chocolates in the office when I got in, a gift from one of our visitors from the finance team  and another one brought in tunnock tea cakes and chocolate biscuits today :wall: after Christmas people bring in LO Christmas goodies 'to get them out of the house'

    B - porridge and fruit
    L - HM veg soup
D - spinach and ricotta pasta with a little LO lamb shanks and grated cheese
S - tunnock tea cake, 2 chocolates, pear

I have to admit Brambling, I one of those that bring in odd bits of chocolates and biscuits after Christmas, I work with people mainly half my age who seem to be able to devour vast quantities of sweets without gaining so much as an ounce.

  • BlueDoggy, I think you were wise to do your shopping yesterday as it is so awful weather-wise today. :)

Well done on a STS, Brambling after your tough week, that is a triumph. Workplaces are a nightmare at this time of year when it comes to all those seasonal goodies. It really makes it very hard to stay on track.

Sirens, if I have anything tempting left over after the holidays, I bung it in the freezer, then I am less tempted. :o

Well, I am stuck indoors waiting for a delivery that was meant to be here this morning. I want to go out and cast my vote and I am fed up of waiting to get it done. I will get wet again as it is raining very heavily today.

I have got my tree up though and cleaned the fridge, so my time has been put to good use. :xmastree:

Sorry for being AWOL. A hectic week was followed by a (slightly disappointing) weekend away and then I’ve been quite unwell since!
The upside of all that is a 2lb weight loss! I’ve still not got much appetite so hopefully I can keep portion sizes small going forward.
  • Good evening everyone :)

Brambling well done on STS in spite of the temptations of working at home :T. I hope your Christmas lunch was good :)

    SIRENS :D

FrugalLina it tipped it down here, too, so yes.

Bfh welcome back, congratulations on your weight loss :j:j and I hope you soon feel completely better.

Although the weather was shockingly wet, the polling station was very busy! I went on the way home after spending the morning with friends. But didn’t avoid getting wet, as Junior Doggy’s afternoon walkies had to be done.

Today I elected :p to eat:
    B: porridge
    S: two mince pies
    L: cheese salad, apple
D: spinach soup, game casserole with celery and carrots, cinnamon yogurt

Well done Bfh :T I hope you're feeling better now :)

Sirens I've been known to off load food into work, but it's more don't do as I do,.. :rotfl: Christmas present from the boss today as it was Christmas lunch, it included panettone, chocolates and nougat  very nice of him but :wall:

Lunch was three courses :o very nice but oh so bad  no dinner as I'm too full still

Family phone call earlier one of my sisters is in hospital for observation, just vague news via the family 'phone tree', there will be more info tomorrow. Unfortunately the hospital called my eldest sister as next of kin and she's not well herself, her blood pressure is 'through the roof' at the moment probably not helped by family dramas :( I'm too far away to do anything now, she has a lot of weight related health issues and a shocking diet, local family will update me tomorrow

Oh Brambling, I hope your sister is ok. Actually I hope they're both ok as it sounds like the one that isn't in hospital is suffering as much as the one that is. My OH has spent the day in A&E. He's been sent home to await surgery tomorrow. Luckily some of his family have gone to keep him company (we don't live close) and they'll bring him back to where we live once he's let out of hospital.

I've spent the evening wrapping presents (they're all getting gift vouchers next year) and making pom pom party sprouts - think green pom pom with red felt crown and googly eyes - as an attempt to distract myself.

Weightwise I am pleased and slightly surprised to be able to report a 0.5 lb loss. I haven't been particularly healthy or particularly unhealthy this week. I've had a few odd experiences like thinking someone at work had cut themselves and they hadn't but then five minutes later they did. It's been a bit unnerving, and it's taken my mind off food completely. I felt really rough this morning which would have been when OH was taken to hospital by ambulance. He was given painkillers which made him sleepy and I was the one that went to bed feeling ill. I'd been in bed about an hour before he messaged me to tell me what had happened. I had a banging headache from 3pm until 5pm but I'm fine now. When I spoke to him he said that he'd had a headache but since he'd had an hours sleep he felt much better. Couldn't make it up :o

I'm going running tomorrow morning for the first time in ages then I'm going to call round to my aunty's house. She's also following slimming world so no temptation there thankfully. I have a selection of thin cousins that will put any extra goodies out of their misery with no noticeable after effects on their weight but my aunty and I are the same short round shape :rotfl:

Take care all of you :)

Cranky sorry you've been having a bit of a wobbly time, hope your OH is okay and well done on the loss, I've sadly been reeled in with cheese and marmite on toast today, it was so delicious
That will do me till dinner though now which will be smoked haddock, new pots and broccoli

Sending healing wishes for both your sisters as well Brambling xx
