Cranky Sorry, it's taken me that long to write a post that I hadn't seen yours. Very well done on staying the same with all that's been going on. Tiredness and stress are both things which make me reach for junk so it's amazing that you did so well and I hope HT's friend gets the help they need.

Thank's for letting us know about Dumpling. If anyone's in touch with her then please send best wishes for a speedy recovery.
  • BlueDoggy, I have just eaten the bake and it was bluddy delicious! I scarfed it down so fast, I am sure I will be burping my head off shortly. Of course, I made far too much, so I shall have some tomorrow too. :o

While I was in Tosco buying the aubergine, the only ingredient I was short of, I found some smoked tofu and had that with the bake - perfect pairing, it was a feast and not too bad calorie-wise too!

    Thank you so much! :A

I’m really glad you enjoyed it! :T How lucky to find the smoked tofu as well and that it went so well with the vegetables.

The butter beans you suggested in your earlier post should also be good, and a nice colour contrast with the veg. :)

CRANKY40 Goodness, what a time you’ve had. I hope the young person involved has the help they need now and will be able to overcome their problems. Also that life is getting back to normal now for you and your youngster. :)

Best wishes for dumpling to make a good recovery.

Izadora sending you a big hug. It is demoralising to do all you can and still find that something you’re extra sensitive to nixes all your hard work. Don’t let it get you down, there’s always a “sticking point” where the body seems to want to stay at a certain weight but the brain doesn’t. I’ve found that it’s possible to keep pushing at it until you can break through in the direction you want to go. It may take time, but you can do it. :)

Honeythewitch you must have needed those mince pies! At least now they’re all gone they won’t be calling to you from the cupboard. :)

Another day tidying up in the garden, including breaking up a rotten trellis panel and removing it.

    Today’s food:
    B: plain porridge
L: (tinned) salmon salad, cinnamon yogurt
D: rooty veg soup, casseroled lambs hearts with onion, aubergine and cabbage, yogurt with gooseberries.

Cranky thanks for letting us know about Dumpling, it seems RL is the throwing a few nasty things at you all at once. 14 is frightening young for cocaine if he's self harming I wonder if he's self medicating some MH issues, he's lucky you stepped in, hope the HT isn't too upset by it.

Honey tomorrow is another day :) I'll lend you my ruler to draw that line and fresh start. Pies and cakes are like biscuits I can't just have one so safest not to keep in the house :o

Izadora i can relate as I've had so many STS weeks this year, I can get on the scales on Sunday and it look like a lost and by Wednesday weigh in it's back to STS or a gain I can almost feel my stomach expand Wednesday. And some weeks It's the other way around

FrugalLina I like smoked tofu unfortunately crispy with a coconut and peanut butter sauce  I have brought some peanut butter powder as used in the pinch of nom book to see if I can make it 'healthier'

I enjoyed the lady Vanishes last night it was very good :) although it was opening night here they are on tour with it so it was very smooth especially the set changes. I'm sure I can remember seeing it as a old film years ago

I worked from home today as I had a routine mammogram this afternoon. Apologies if TMI but as a well built woman there was a lot of man (well woman) handling to position one for the side scan (or should that be press ) I usually require at least dinner first :D. I'm not complaining as it's a necessity, my sis-in-law has recently been diagnosed with a reoccurrence of breast cancer after 22 years but I'm just glad it's only every two years

    B -
    L - scrambled egg
    D - chicken, pasta, vegetables
S - finger of fudge, 2 crackers with peanut butter

:rotfl: Sorry that you had a bad day but the way you phrased it really made me giggle

Thank you and well done on all the gardening.

I'm trying really hard not to use it as an excuse to say "well, if I'm not managing to lose when I do try then why bother" and even managed to say no to pick'n'mix at the cinema last night. I took my mum to a screening of Matthew Bourne's Romeo + Juliet (I normally take her to Sadler's Wells for her Christmas present but she wouldn't be able to make the journey this year) and it was really good.

I did fail to say no to cake though :o I'd made a carrot cake for mum and dad brought a couple of slices with him when he came to pick her up...

That doesn't sound like a fun way to spend the afternoon but it's good that you bother to do it and hope that sis-in-law's doing okay.

Ive had to slow down a bit atm as I pulled my tummy muscles where my scar is - doing a bit too much my enthusiasm is increasing in stamina just wish my body would follow.
I had a trip out to see a fellow MSE er and it was lovely to catch up but I was so tired afterwards. Still another step forward!
Good luck on the weight watching keep going
    Kind regards x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

BlueDoggy, I think I will have the butter beans with it tonight, they will go well, you are right, visually as well as flavour-wise.

Oh dear, Honeythewitch, those mince pies have been tempting you, well now they are gone. :o

Brambling, the smoked tofu with coconut and peanut sauce sounds delicious. I guess the peanut powder is PB1, it is lovely in porridge, just saying. ;)

Argh, I know what you mean about the mammogram, but as you say, it has to be done. I hope your sis-in-law recovers from her second bout of breast cancer quickly, you all must be very worried.

Well done on keeping your focus, Izadora, despite the carrot cake (yum)! :o

Woo-hoo Molly41, smaller trousers - that is brilliant! Look after yourself and don't overdo it, you are making great progress. :T

I am just back from a nice bike ride. Well, it was work-related, but on the way back, I found a really lovely park to cycle round, I shall go there and explore some more. I only moved into this area a year ago, but I have been too unwell to get out and about and find nice walking/cycling places until recently.

Sorry I have been awol for a bit, life a bit up and down.

Last week I put on another 1lb but this week I lost 5lb so I think that puts me at at -2.5lb over all now so at least I'm moving in the right direction.

I have been super good although this Sunday is our takeaway (we limit to one a month) and the kids and I are at Comicon this Saturday, we take a packed lunch and plenty of walking will be done.

Honeywitch I went right off mince pies when I was pregnant ant with ds (who is now 12), last year though they came back with a vengeance! I buy mince meat now and either pop some in my porridge or make baked oats with them, I can't be trusted with pastry :rotfl:

Your going great guns Molly41, glad the trousers looked nice x
