Thank you for the kind messages! I can see there's lots of movement on the board but I just haven't had the ... Omph? to catch up with anyone's diary just yet but I'm very much hoping everything is going well for everyone!

Not much has changed in my world but I'll do a little update regardless. I have increased my pension contribution to 6%, it's not a great deal I know but it's a start! No employer match.

Because I hit a milestone of savings I was going to get myself an ergonomic desk chair, but instead I bought a relative a vacuum cleaner. They are going through a break up and thought this was a better use of money.

I bought white vinegar, was very pleased to have found it because for some reason it's never in b&m, but it decided to drain ALL OF THE CONTENTS into my boot. My car absolutely stinks  it's like a chippy on steroids. I have been driving with my windows open and you should see the faces of pedestrians!

Most important update of all, work is having drama over how many bananas are being eaten!
  • That sounds absolutely horrific (the chippy car, not the bananadrama)

Although I now picture your office as full of Bananaman.

And congratulations on the pension, increasing a little bit pays off a lot when it all pans out!

It's been a while! All of my subscribed threads have like 60-300 posts to catch up on! It'll take time to catch up!

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and new year. Mine was eventful, but there were some really good bits! My nephew is autistic and it turns out opening a hot wheels advent calendar all at once is the best thing ever. Definitely will do that again!

Work has been manic and will continue to be so. A woman was meant to start a couple of weeks ago but turns out that she is starting somewhere else. Whoops.

Ive been making a fox. Its so relaxing after working. I found a survey opportunity on Facebook for £10 for 10 minutes. It went a little bit over and they paid me £15! Which is a massive amount for just talking for a bit.

Money wise, I'm not doing so well. Stress eating is terrible for me! But I've stocked up on gifts... Even if one of them was for me.. it's like this little writing thing, it has pockets and a refillable notepad and it's pretty. Not necessary but um... I wanted it!
  • Glad you got something you wanted!
Chester is lovely - I probably go each year its not too far from me, but far enough for it to be a treat day :)

    Hello!

Things have been happening! I finally quit! My tipping point was a small fire in my kitchen, my sister called me (she works at my flat) and the grill was on fire. It reignited while she was talking to me on the phone! My manager offered me immediately to go home. I called the staff partner to tell her that I might have to go home if it gets worse. She. Flipped. Out. Shouted at me, how could I possibly think it could get worse, I clearly think my sister is incapable, it's a total waste of my holiday, etc. I thought "nah" and reached out to a couple of agents. One month later I gave in my resignation.

Spent like a month negotiating with work. They offered a raise which was close but did not match my new offer, promised to support me in getting my own portfolio of clients. But here's the thing, they want to pay me less to do a higher up job. The new job is a fairly long commute, so I would have more in my pocket each month at my current job purely due to the cost of commuting. But the new job have a structure, they already support people into client management, they have a timeline. My current work just has wishful thinking.

It was also really weird. My bosses actually asked my colleagues to convince me to stay. It was bonkers. It's not even a conspiracy, my colleague told me because she was uncomfortable with it.

I also currently have a dog. His name is woody. Sadly he's not a cat. I think I may be allergic.

Talking of allergies, I have puffed up like crazy twice in a month. It was really hard to see, also bonkers. I had multiple people tell me I shouldn't have come in to work but it feels very weird to take sick days in your notice.

Saving is going ok. I've been stress eating so I give myself a C on that front. Must do better.

Spent (relatively) loads of money at the car boot today. A brand new game for 50p, a washable rug/mat thing to go Infront of the door for the dogs muddy feet for £3, a paint pad thing for £2 and a computer backpack for £12. The backpack is for my commute, it's a good price I think! I also acquired a battery pack for it yesterday, it's also solar powered.

I'm shattered, but looking forward to catching up with everyone.
