Glad you’re enjoying your trip. With your mum’s symptoms, I’d agree about either of the options suggested. But also don’t panic - it could be something as simple as a urine infection, there can cause confusion and all sorts as you get older. But definitely make sure she gets checked out.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

My mum in her normal times is fine but doesn't remember the confused times. This is what happened when her kidney thing started. So like, there's not a chance she would allow me on her phonecall. There's also less of a chance that my work will allow me to do it. They got upset at the thought of me taking compassionate leave for my uncle. They told me that my mum's issues doesn't sound very harmful the first time around.

Oh wow, that’s awful of your employer KP!Could you perhaps ring the doctor before the appointment and explain your concerns (and the fact your mum doesn’t remember that it happens) - I’m sure they’ll be able to act on it without exposing you.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

My mum missed her appointment apparently. However, I'm sure it'll get fixed. My mum is the bravest and most stubborn person you can meet. The hospital (the first time around) sent the doctor the medication list that they needed to put on repeat. So they refused to put it on repeat. My mum went up to the surgery during lock down and refused to leave until they gave it to her. She told me about it afterwards starting the conversation with "I might be banned from the doctors".
Thank you for your advice, I won't lie, I don't know who the doctor is or even the hospital. Mum doesn't want to worry anyone, it makes me want to strangle her!
Enough about that.
I did something horribly un-MSE. I took the bins out... And my phone slipped out of my pocket and bounced down the concrete steps. The lower half of the screen is cracked. I looked online for how much it would cost to fix then went in person to a couple of shops and it's between £130-140. So I'm getting a new phone, higher spec, for £205. But it just shows you the dangers of household chores! Not doing that again!
Also had a sad anniversary at the weekend. So bought myself Pokémon cards from the carboot. There's something so lovely about opening them. The cards have really changed since I collected them as a kid (never played them, didn't and still don't know how). Some of them are real works of art.

Hi KP, just caught up with your diary. I Hope your mum gets sorted out nice and quickly, sounds like she will make sure she does if she refused to leave last time, good on her 😆
Love the crochet and cat photos 😁MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
Pretty sure she will be alright. No reason other than I can't see it being any other way.
So I've been thinking about the reversal of the NI increase. Since I've already felt the pain of losing that money, I could just increase my pension contribution by 1%. It would have little impact on my budget. But I am a bit torn, because I've been trying to save as much as possible (carboots withstanding, I don't usually spend over £10 and it generally goes on useful things or things for my hobbies which I wanted for much higher prices). I did need to spend £200 for the new phone. Don't know.
Went to the carboot and got hit on by a guy in the back of a car. When I gently declined his offer, he told me that I look like the kind of girl who sits awake at night wondering what a real man is like. So I told him I was a lesbian. Like, ngl it's an easy way to get out of those situations. But seriously you go to a carboot to get a bargain not a date?! Is this where I'm going wrong? LolAlso thinking about selling my bed, mostly because when I kick it, it really hurts! My poor knee.2 -
At least at a carboot you get to see him in broad daylight. Mind you any man who refers to himself as a real man is a definite loser & best avoided.

Wow he sounds like a right charmer! Oh dear 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

I'm sure he has his good side! Everyone does! But yeah, whenever someone is talking to me from a car my reaction is no no no no!
I read a comment in the metro this morning that this guy who earns £150k is struggling too. I get life style inflation, but then he said "I've worked hard" and I thought he's a definite troll.
