That does sound a bit flakey really, I think I’d be tempted to re home him via a charity as they will be able to filter out people a bit easier perhaps? Glad the new job is going ok 🙂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Thankfully the annoying lady is nothing to do with the potential adopter. Found out that woody has arthritis, I told the potential adopter and she has gone away to think about it. I will contact on Tuesday to see if they still want to go ahead, I don't want to pressure them.
Work is going pretty well. There's something I need to speak to my manager about regarding one of my colleagues. He doesn't appear to understand I have my own portfolio so partners will come to me to talk to me about them. He thinks they're talking to him, despite it being a conversation not including him lol
Biggest issue I'm having with new work is the lack of dishwasher. If I use soap, my hands shred skin like crazy so I have to keep bringing my stuff home for my sister to wash. For this I have purchased picnic cutlery and copies of the microwave soup cup thing for 50p each.
Got my last pay from my old work! Chapter has been closed. Feeling good.2 -
I was thinking about my final pay from my old work. I believe it's similar to the pay I used to receive from my first pay. It just makes me feel like "yeah, I got this, I've progressed". I suppose it should be like that given it's been over 10 years...
Morning ramblings are fun, I see why people do them!1 -
I'm pleased to announce that I own 30% of my flat! (On the price I paid for it) Swish
The people at my new work eat out a lot, almost every lunch time and I don't understand how they can afford it? I'm trying to balance the social with the financial. But it's hard because I am a bit of a follower rather than a leader when it comes to social things so I don't want to reject too often.
I've spent a lot of money in the last 8 months. I keep spending 3k in lump sums to things! No more of those hopefully now. So I need to review my savings and look at the best buys.
My car is almost paid off! Thanks mum for the loan!3 -
Well done! It's worth remembering that your colleagues probably afford by borrowing, and by not having a paid off car, and by not owning 30% of their flat... It is very hard to say no constantly though, especially if every single other person is doing it.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

Agreed! And remember, your flat will have gone up in value since you bought it, so you probably actually own a lot more 😀!
With your colleagues, is there somewhere you could all sit and eat a packed lunch together rather than going out out every day? Maybe you could pretend you're still paying for the car (or saving for a holiday, or whatever), so you could say you can eat out one day, but take a packed lunch the rest of the time. The others may jump at that - they may also be followers, and somewhere along the line have just fallen in line with the one of them that has the spendy habits!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Thank you for the congratulations guys. I'm super happy about it, I think it's nice to see "my" work instead of market forces if that makes sense. I celebrate every little success, each percent, each k, doesn't matter. I think with big challenges like this, you might as well celebrate wherever you can because otherwise it might be a bit of a slog.
I very much hope my colleagues aren't getting into debt. They can lose their ability to work at the company if they get into problems (ccj, iva, bankruptcies and informal agreements need to be disclosed). I've rejected all lunches this week, my pain was spiking so not a chance.
New work is going well I think. One of the partners paid me a compliment. To. My. Face. It was weird and I had no idea what to do lol. I have worked at home for the train strikes which was super handy and I didn't have to stress or argue for it.
I have however managed to get on the wrong train and err ended up 30 miles away. Whoops!
I think my surveys earnings have been outstripped by the compensation I've been claiming for my late trains. Lol.
Potential good news about good boy Woody. I won't get my hopes up though, just in case.4 -
Sad news, the potential adopter for woody declined. I can't blame her because he growled a lot. I think he just got stressed, my mum says he growls the most around me and when with her he rarely growls. I have a date for him going to a foster home though. I will miss him, he's a good boy.
I'm contemplating getting therapy. I keep flip flopping but I have a lot of unresolved anger at the passing and near passing of various relatives. I feel it's time to address it. Especially as I've been really low for a few months.
Had an amazing car boot! Acquired one of the hobbycraft trolleys with attachments for £10, if buying new then it would have been 40 ish I think.
This post is a bit rushed because I didn't want to neglect my diary again as I find it motivating. But also it's past bedtime. So this is a reminder to future me to discuss my concerns about the mortgage.0 -
I think therapy to sort your feelings out sounds like a good idea - there's no real reason giving your mind an MOT would be a bad idea if you can afford it.
Hope all goes well with woody.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056
