It was just a kid trying to freak me out honestly. When I was in my early twenties, I had a grown man try to follow me home multiple times over several weeks, he'd wizz past in his European red smart car with this huge hairy arm flailing at me and shouting, turn around and do it again several times in my 30 minute walk home (he must have have done turns in the road because there isn't many turnings off that road). I was about to go to the police about it but suddenly it stopped. I think because he saw me kissing my then boyfriend, he proper screamed at us then. So ever since I've been a bit paranoid, especially now I live alone. I cannot express to you, how hairy the arm was.
I have my finances looked at and I'm scared to announce that I only have 1 year left on my mortgage fix! But it's currently under £145k which is pretty awesome! I have also opened a high interest savings account and paid my mum for my car. Mum has also insisted that I stop paying her rent as well. It's only £50 a month but I've stopped for now in order to save and then I will probably start again.
I've also started adding new beans and lentils and stuff to my food. My diet has not that much meat in it anyway but it's nice to have variety. I tried these red beans in my pasta dish the other day which I quite liked. They're sorta salty. I'm not a confident cook so I'm pretty pleased.
I have picked up some sleep masks and ear plugs for our trip to NZ. There's a small discount on them at the moment. I imagine that there a few different things I should be picking up but I have no idea what they are. Maybe a swimming costume? But I hate them, why do men get trunks but women have to show their bums off to the world?!
One last thought before I go (sorry if it's sexual harassment, I'm genuinely curious) but when men go in the sun with their tops off, do they put sun cream on their nipples? Sunburn there sounds awful!0 -

Swim shorts are a good shout. Will have a look!
Been really quite ill. Apparently I developed cellulitis around my eye and now I'm on antibiotics. The antibiotics have made me vomit quite a lot. Getting much better now ish. However over the last two weeks I've had 2.5 days off and I'm still very new to my job. And I really like this job, the only downside I currently see is that it's a long commute. I really hope they are forgiving of it.
Don't want to say the c word too soon, but mum wants silly Brussel sprouts and carrots. I made one when I first started crocheting, now I need to make a few with different expressions. I'm thinking one will be fancy with a top hat and a monocle. Already have a angry one. Any suggestions are very appreciated. I might make her a pig in blanket as well.3 -
Just did my monthly financial round up, only a couple of weeks late...
Considering how ill I've been, I haven't been spending much money so my cash is up about £800 this month. This is largely due to me not commuting very much and not eating a great deal.
Investments have partially fallen, partially risen so I'm about £20 up on last month. However, since I have invested £100 in the month I'm actually £80 down.
Credit card is slightly up. It's due to socialising before I keeled over and paying a small deposit for a thing with friends, £25 so not crazy. I've also spent money on Pokémon phone charms, like from the noughties. I want to use them as stitch markers, about £18 in total. Also acquired more yarn (new) to finish some projects which I will avoid in the future as I have plenty. In addition, I need to start cooking my meals again instead of relying on ready meals. But will give myself a little bit of leeway while I'm still recovering.
I have a bit under £4k bookmarked for mortgage. £2.5k for the holiday. £400 for car insurance. £750 for ground rent/insurance. Leaving around 2k as emergency which is a lot lower than I would like. However, it's pretty reasonable considering I don't need to pay my car insurance until Feb I think and my ground rent/insurance until April.1 -
Glad that you are on the mend.

Oh another thing, woody has been put onto the website for adoption. Some surprising information, apparently he's NOT NEUTERED? My brother is !!!!!!, he's the one who paid for him to be done in the first place. This is like 6-7 years ago, no idea what happened. Another is that he's nipped two people!?! He never did that with me, he must have been very stressed. But they clearly have fallen a bit in love with him, one of the first sentences says that you'll never go to the loo alone again. That's. So. True. He's basically a cat like that.1 -

Definitely give yourself leeway while you're recovering - if eating easy food gives you time to recover it's worth it.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

I never saw any indications of him not being done! Maybe he is a .. freak of nature, which I think is my favourite option. Good news is that he appears to have found a home! He's a wonderful boy and deserves the best. I wasn't the best for him but I tried and I'm glad I did.
Been in bed all day, it's a joy but now I need to clean. I'll check back in to announce how amazing I've been in my cleaning mission.3
