Most I've seen for council tax are only saying about £6 but I guess it depends what band your are on, but certainly not as worrrysome as energy.

Definitely what @South_coast said - there was a BBC article with the published increases and my LA managed to be one of the only two? in the UK that hadn't confirmed it yet!3

Last year I messed up my council tax and ended up needing to pay it all at once. A grand and a bit is quite a lot to pay at once which is why it worries me.3

Belated birthday greetings for Saturday!
Just looked up our council tax for this year (expecting bill this/ next week - they are usually dated somewhere around the 10th-12th March) the rise for the year is just under £75 (a pleasant surprise!) - but we sadly don't qualify for the £150I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £202 -
Thank you for the birthday wishes!
I think the council tax is bothering me because I'm still annoyed at myself for making that mistake last year.
We were meant to celebrate our birthday with a carvery with the uncle yesterday but his leg is getting the best of him. I am worried for him. We decided to go anyway because who doesn't like a carvery? But then a server took a very heavy fall, I hope they are ok.
But we did go to the dessert place that popped up recently near us, sister wanted to go there specifically for our birthday so we went there yesterday lunchtime. Waffles. Ice cream. Amazing.
Also I've flip flopped. I am now going to invest in my isa. I've decided that I will fine regardless of what happens. Also, after I made this decision, my provider sent a letter that I will be entered into a prize draw for £20k if I put money in. Like, obviously wouldn't do it just on the off chance of winning money but it's like the universe is confirming my thought process.
Lastly, went to a couple of charity shops and got myself a little luggage thing. Looks like it's never been used and has white netty ribbon (I don't know what that material is) tied to it. I think it was a wedding gift that was not required! It's antler and looking at new similar items that it probably cost £50 new! Mine for £4! Also got some almost new dune shoes for £4.50.

Thanks greent! Not 100% what I will use it for but thought it might come in useful.
Been reminiscing today, think it's because a friend told me about her manager being my age but an associate director which is like 3 rungs above me I guess?
Past Peaty
I'm very thankful for Past Peaty for getting out of software because I hated it with a passion. I got into a field which suits me because it's fairly stable and reasonably paid. I was in support before and there wasn't a lot of money there and I didn't have the confidence to push for more.
I'm grateful that PP also started investing even though it was very scary and all of my friends kept telling me that I should just save for a deposit and not spilt between them. It did mean that people got onto the ladder before me, but I was studying so didn't have the energy to look after a flat by myself anyway. Also it gives me more confidence than my friends who are relative newbies to investing who find the downs quite scary.
I appreciate PP for studying so hard to get my qualifications, even though it sucked. (Nuff said)
PP put in the hard work to get my fibro under management. This is still a problem obviously but I have been on medication for a long time which helps with the small things. The big things I can tackle on a one to one basis rather than being overwhelmed.
Past Peaty made a lot of mistakes like getting ill in early 2020 but not taking the time off work that I needed. Not sticking up for myself when I should and not communicating.
However PP left the PJ's downstairs and current peaty does not want to go down.
Future PeatyFP needs to pay the council tax £122 ish, the sister £50 and the ground rent £125. This is just a reminder for me.
I know it sounds weird, but sometimes you just need to take the time to pat yourself on the back.6 -

Trouble is brewing at work. I'm pretty sure I'm not involved but you can never tell with these things! Work is being pushed to different areas of the business. I don't want to say downwards because we all have different tasks, but to cheaper staff. I (being one of the more expensive) am looking on bemused. Pushing this work around without support is going to end in tears! Always amusing to see.
My credit card is maxed out !! Literally can't spend on it any more, it's very strange. I don't know how people cope with being maxed out, it's honestly nerve wrecking. Which is silly because I have money, but it feels very risky not to be able to put an expense on my normal card.

Eek! Looked at my smart meter this morning and it's already at the amount that I usually pay for the day (well about 20p lower, don't want to lie)2
