I know it sounds stupid to be debating but I need to take into account that I don't like audit so that will limit the money I can demand. I don't want to work in London and I'm not sure I want to work in a large company. So the headline is up to 15k but the detail is more debatable.
I am potentially taking on management roles which could make taking the next step up easier. I also have been quietly gathering duties to myself to expand my reach, for example I am trying to get into a certain part of tax, which could be beneficial to me (and quite interesting). But like, these were things I wanted to take on, that I don't mind working more for.

It's been a little while.
I've spoken with another recruitment agent, they gave a similar but lower amount. I still am debating as some of the opportunities I have developed myself are coming through. I'm going to stick around for a couple of months to see if I can improve the salary situation.
IHaveALeakAgain!
My plan is to fix it at the weekend ( the bucket it positioned) but I will need to dig the ladder my mum "donated" to me. In case anyone is wondering, the bucket was also "donated" by my mum.2 -
You have been missing a while KP, hope all is ok with you 🙂 I have a leak too, from the boiler for the second time since the service in January 😩 hope you can fix yours, I’m at the mercy of a very busy service engineer.

Got to love a leak from the boiler, I had one for 31 years & 2 different boilers & more repair men than you could shake a stick at. Luckily the leak was only small & it just required a bowl strategically placed to catch all the drips. A new much more expensive boiler last Autumn has not leaked so much as a tiny drip thankfully. Even the new boilerman said he couldn't tell properly where the leak had been coming from just a general direction. I bet he had his fingers crossed!

I've just been busy! I had a work deadline where I needed to do a 50 hour job in 40 working hours, then the cheeky [add your favourite expletive] decided to take deadline day off. Totally worth all of those unpaid overtime hours.
I also have organised and paid for a house for 10 people for two nights (£1k eek! Being repaid though) which not sure why because I'm not maid of honour?!!
Also went to see my friend at the weekend just gone and she got us about 3 kilos of chocolate in preparation. There was five of us total and only there for 24 hours. She's got a lot of eating to do!
My leak is from the flat roof, it's very minor at the moment so hoping that I can get it before any damage is done. I have this... Tarry stuff which is going to be a horrible job but should fix it temporarily.
Cannot believe that @badmemory has had a boiler leak for so long! I'm glad it wasn't too bad!
@newgirly the trades are in such big demand, it's hard to get anyone out at all. I've got my fingers crossed.1 -
It's been a bit of a weekend. Had a big old bust up with the family (I am not even close to blameless) but did fix the roof.
I found out that the DIY store which is relatively local is staffed by people who know everything. Just starting asking all of the questions, so I went in wanting one thing and left with a different item which should do the job better but was cheaper. They also told me about wood dyes versus wood stains. Apparently they are different!
Went around 8? charity shops, found nothing, my purse thanks me. Found a haberdashery! I did not know there was one local, so I know where to go if I have any success.
Did some cooking. I don't do cooking, I'm not confident, it always tastes fairly meh. But I pulled up my big girl pants picked two Indian (simplified) recipes and gave it a go. Took three hours but tasted alright! The flat still smells of the spices I spilled but I like spice sooo...
Tried to fix another of mum's curtain rails, it hasn't come off the wall like the other so I was hoping to just use a new bracket. But this curtain rail is old so the current brackets do not fit so I had to run and get super glue. It's setting overnight and I will attach tomorrow after work.
Need to chase some solicitors and sort out money. Mmmmmmmm!4 -
