Where would you recommend going in Margate? Don't think I've been.2

Looks like lots of different options:

This is definitely on my list for when I eventually make it to Ramsgate, but I might just be a bit of a weirdo 🤣!

I had no idea that Margate had so much, I will definitely go there on day two (health permitting). I will report back, I'm excited!
Going to quickly finish painting my bed side table what has been mid journey for 18 months.
Flat is looking pretty good but a lot more work to be done.2 -
Love me a bit of Thanet, although only really "done" Broadstairs. Embryonic plan for next year would be a roundabout roadtrip taking in Stonehenge, Canterbury and one of the nice coastal towns in Kent.

Stonehenge is a long way from Kent, Ed 😮!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I suspect that a lot of your risk is down to how you see & carry yourself. I have never been attacked, called names in the street or anything like it, but then I do tend to be a bit of a stroppy cow even now. I am only quite small (height wise anyway we won't go into girth which isn't THAT bad). I have a friend who is almost 6 foot. 2 husbands who weren't averse to using their fists, so she walks like a victim. She got mugged on her way from her car to the petrol station shop. No it was NOT her fault she got mugged, it was the muggers. Thankfully she is with a nice man now who never think of using his fists, such a relief to be able to stop worrying.

That's so sad about your friend, I'm glad she's with a good person now.
On my trip to Canterbury! Thought I would fill you in on my adventure. The drive was very easy with only one traffic jam, and one silly driving mistake on my part (I was following someone on a roundabout and should have been thinking about where I was actually going).
Canterbury itself is entirely the same and different at the same time. Cargo is now Aldi, Debenhams (I think it was Debenhams) is now Primark, the library is now open and you can drive through West gate again!
I walked the wall, climbed the mound for the first time and sat there with my thermos of tea enjoying myself. I also went into the Roman museum which I didn't even know existed. It was incredible.
Went into the shops, a haberdashery is closing, I found some material which I think will be good for the chair so I asked the lady what this material is for and she said for upholstery! Purchased! Also got some books from the charity shop.
I decided against going to the cathedral, it was where my graduation was and my graduation was the first time I realised that dad would not be around for any major events in my life from that point onwards. I decided that it might be emotional, I don't want that.
Saw six, it was good but not what I expected.4 -
Sounds like a good time! When you say Debenhams do you mean the department store at the far end of the town? Pity if that’s a primark now - was such a lovely building (but my memory vaguely says that wasn’t Debenhams…). Pity about the cathedral - totally get where you’re coming from but it’s the only good memory I have - did a week’s course with the Canterbury archaeology trust and got to go up into and into the roof of the cathedral.
Glad you enjoyed yourself!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
