Might have spoken too early on winning the fight on fatigue, Friday I slept through a bridesmaid meeting that I actually asked for and arranged! Whoops. Still, I can only try to keep pushing. I've slept through a lot in my life, can't be bothered with it any more!
There has been massive drama at work, nothing to do with me so highly entertaining.
The tradespeople have been at my uncles house and they are doing a beautiful job. They have been trying to stay true to the house as they found it (less the damp) so they have sourced replacement skirting that looks just like the old ones except it's a bit shorter. I was so overjoyed that I rang my mum and let her know and then we had a little family outing to look at it. One of the fire places is now opened up and the other is the way it was because it's still functional.
I am on a mission to find a laundry bin. It turns out that I am both cheap and very fussy so for now the floor is holding up the fort. I went to more charity shops than you can shake a stick at on Saturday. Main reasons were that I wanted to force myself to be awake all day, I want a laundry basket and I'm looking for hen night bits. I was dead excited when I found Arkham horror for £9! I know it's not one of the things I was looking for, but it's a game I've wanted to own for ten years (not an exaggeration, the ex who introduced me to it was from that long ago) and it's £40 ish online. I also hold my hands up to buying another game which was about zombies and was £2. I don't feel guilty about that either. Everything else purchased was either hen night related or for my nephew.
It may not look like it but I have been tidying for hours. Mainly because I have an MOT this week and need everything out of the car, meaning it needs to go somewhere in my flat.
Also yesterday I had a stranger invade! She just waltzed right into my flat without even knocking and decided to investigate the whole place without even so much as a please or a thank you!

I have no space I wish to give over to a laundry basket, so I just put the washing straight into the machine - could be an option, if you're struggling to find what you want???
I'm intrigued by the idea of you sleeping through the bridesmaid meeting, and now just want to know whether it was in-person or online 🤔?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I was doing that but I turned a few too many white things into pink thing's..
It was a WhatsApp call, I told them that I couldn't so it in person because of the fatigue! I woke up about an hour afterwards and they both mocked me mercilessly, which is only fair!4 -

A very pretty invader there! Was she a ragdoll?Do you use Freegle/Freecycle/FB marketplace? The might be better for a laundry basket as they are quite bulky. I see that sort of thing quite often on then round here.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I have no idea what she was but she was very chatty and friendly. Very soft as well.
I have but usually for actual pieces of furniture, for some reason I had not made the connection. I'm not a smart person... Will definitely have a look!
Mind you, there was a beautiful tallboy stag chest of drawers for £5. That's not a typo. Five pounds sterling. Mental! If I had the space and I thought I could get it to the car I would have!
Had my pay review. I'm getting around 2k more, not sure how I feel about it because the way that she spoke to me made me think they had been paying an immediate peer more...3 -
Right, had a think about my pay rise. I think I will pop £50 to investments and £50 to increase my loan repayment. But I will wait until after the wedding to give myself some wriggle room for spends there. Please give me any thoughts on whether you think there's a better way to allocate. I'm all ears.
The car boot has been an actually lifesaver when it comes to getting storage solutions and crafty things for the hen. I think I would otherwise be spending a lot more!
Also at the car boot, I went out this morning specifically saying I don't want to pick up any more storage for now, I've picked up a few very nice pieces and I'm pretty happy with them. But then...
It spoke to me.
I'm a sucker for trunks.2 -
So I noticed that the little trunk above has like a little name plate saying Mossman, apparently this was expensive when it was initially purchased. But I have to say that this company's trunks are quite beautiful.
Been painting my corner display. Only taken like 2 years to actually continue. I had such good intentions, but now I need action.
Talking of action, I need to crack on with my late uncles house again. The builders have been so it's time to start sorting again.
I have decided to do a car boot where I sell (you will be delighted to hear SC). I'm going to aim for about a month away. This is because my Saturdays will be dedicated to my uncle's house, Sunday I usually work because I never have enough time during the week. So I am giving myself a good amount of time to not stress myself out too much but also keep me motivated.
I am completely knackered and haven't managed to clean the kitchen and only did a small clean of the bathroom. I'm not sure I like this adulting thing.
Hope everyone has had a nice long weekend!3 -
Today I actually went to uncles house and (with mum's blessing) sorted out an entire box of things to go to the carboot! Looked everything up, if it's selling for less than £20 then it's going to the boot.
Additionally, I have sorted a large bag of my stuff (I need to clean some of it, need to review the eBay selling prices etc) from mum's and a large box from my flat to also be car booted. Progress.
Uncle (living) is unwell so I need to make special efforts to see him during the week so please feel free to nag me. I love seeing him but I get so tired after work that I end up in bed as soon as I get home.
I'm still painting the corner display! I'm currently painting instead of sleeping. Not sure why!
Saw some friends whom I have not seen since before the pandemic. It's lovely and I really enjoyed their company, they even gave me some plants! I'm scared I will kill them but fingers crossed! Honestly, such wonderful people.
If anyone can help me keep enough discipline to keep this up, please do! It's hard work and honestly my bed is calling me. I think my actual work is suffering a bit so I need to find a balance.4 -
