Dead excited about the new series of how to save 1k in 24 hours. I love the DIY section.

Did you see this week with the two guys and their little boy? £1300 a month between the supermarket and take aways :o but no one said anything about food waste?! I did like the shelves though!

Sorry to hear you've been unwell... sometimes though it is best to just wrap yourself up until you feel you can add extra tasks :)

Re your colleague - work chats are fabulous... but she may feel telling people her news gently is her fabulous :)

I don't understand how they spent that much? I know their fridge and cupboards were filled but that's a lot of money! I would have expected so much more.

The shelves were nice, I liked how Eve nagged them into sanding. But I didn't like the shoe storage.

She's a lovely girl, I think she gets very stressed and this is potentially her way of avoiding some of it. But I feel genuinely honoured that she's told me and it turns out that we have similar tastes in carpet! Obviously I wouldn't dream of telling anyone at work, it's her business.

Did ironing today and then had a 3 hour nap because I was knackered. Feel proud that I managed to do something vaguely useful but now I have to stay up until I can take my meds. Might have pushed it a bit...

I keep telling you lot ironing isn't worth it 🤣! Sorry you're still struggling, hope today is better x

P.S. I hadn't heard about this programme before, but am going to record it now - love a bit of money-spending voyeurism 🤣!

Listen to SC, Mr Chigle used to be an obsessive ironer (he thought it excused the obsession with dodgy 70s and 80s drama - the Professionals, Shoestring, Lovejoy :o:wink:), I persuaded him he didn't need an excuse and I don't think the iron has been plugged in more than three times in two years :p:smile:
And yes, the shoe stoarage didn't float my boat either.

I have good excuses for ironing! The first was I wanted to watch TV, the second is that if I had to give up suddenly it's not like cleaning the bathroom where I would have to move all the things I had moved to clean, and finally, the cats have had a nasty flea  habit for the last month so I'm hoping it will kill anything that might be lurking.

Also the very first episode of the first series is the most shocking. How anyone can get themselves into financial trouble when they don't have to pay rent or mortgage for nearly 10 years is beyond me. Usually I like to think of myself as understanding of others priorities but there's no excuse in my eyes.

Lovejoy 🤣! My Mum used to make me watch that - but at least that was when it was new!

I have to go and see if that episode is on All4 now!

SC, it is grim - and some of the casual sexism :o
