I put my jeans on after work yesterday and a spider ran out of the leg as I put my foot in :)

(whispers...... I actually quite like spiders - I used to rescue them from all the guys' offices at an old job and put them outside so that the guys would be able to go in their office and sit at their desks :D - will happily pick most of them up by a leg or catch them in my hands)

Mr Chigle used to happily do that until he moved in with me - my spiders bit back :s

Can I keep my garden spiders, KP? - less bothered about the false widows!

I'll happily rescue anyone from spiders if I'm around:D DH once woke me up late at night with a loud scream and I ran downstairs to find him crouching in just his boxers on the dining table - and a large spider running around on the floor beneath him! It did make me laugh- and then I evicted the spider. :)

Ooh - I'm not going to tackle false widows - they get seen off in our garage (thankfully not next to the house!) with a weed wand. All other spiders are set free outside. I have been bitten a few times- usually by the larger ones with the long hairy legs so now just collect those in cupped hands rather than picking them up and that seems to be OK that way :)

@Chiglepig um why would you want garden spiders? Is there an advantage?

You sound like a godsend @greent I just panic and (sorry but it's true) I attack them with a shoe. They scare me, even talking about it gives me a tight chest.

There's things at my uncles house that I can't touch yet because I'm too scared of how big the spider hanging out on top of it. I keep trying each week and each time I wimp out! One day I will manage it!

Hello again. It's been a little while, but I haven't had anything positive to say! I've been poorly and no one wants to hear about that.

However I am very much enjoying the Olympics. I am absolutely delighted for that Austrian cyclist who won despite not being a full time athlete! Amazing work. I'm also enjoying  the gymnastics but wish there was more of it, they don't appear to be showing everyone.

Totally fitted for the Japanese gymnast who fell from the bar and this was supposed to be his farewell!

My colleague has secretly purchased a house. I get it, she is very shy and doesn't like people in her business. But my heart aches for her because I talked about my purchase and my colleagues were really supportive. I hope that she has support elsewhere. Apparently I'm only the third person to know. I may not like the business I work in but my colleagues are lovely and supportive.

The wedding I'm bridesmaid for is this weekend. I am doing my decoration homework! I have taken 5 working days off but from Wednesday to Tuesday, this is to give me time to recover.

Dead excited about the new series of how to save 1k in 24 hours. I love the DIY section.
