  • Quite a few people seem to be intersted in the Free Christmas Challenge. When do you think is a suitable time to start a board? Before Christmas or after Christmas?

Not sure chocaholic...I'm nearly finished with this year, but fear that if I got anything before Christmas I'd end up spending it/giving it to someone this year!

There's no reason we can't start the thread now and start the challenge from Christmas Day this year, then it's a whole year.

I love the idea of a free Christmas. I did well enough this year between Nectar points, mums opinions and a few other places, but I'd like to keep my hands off the goodies completely until the end of November next year if I could.

I quite like the idea of a free Christmas - getting magazine subscriptions with tesco points and stuff quite appeals to me!

    Where do I sign up?

Not sure we've got that far with these challenges yet. I'm happy to do the old Olympic challenge again, but will have to do it with someone else as I don't have the time to do the weekly updates until May.

  • I would love a challenge. I desperately need something to keep me on the straight and narrow. My ultimate aim is to have all my debts paid by my birthday in July. If I could do it sooner then even better. The clear 3 debts by Christmas challenge really made me pull my finger out.

No worries Gemmzie - you have enough on your plate as it is!

Right then, my 2008 challenges are as follows:
    • Make my minimum payments and snowball when things finally start to clear!
    • Save in a separate account the money to pay off my secured loan by the end of the year £12000 ish - probably do this using olympic challenge money throughout the year.
    • Do the sealed tin challenge - use the money towards replacement windows that we desperately need before the old ones fall out!
    • Go for a free Christmas 2008
    • Grow more of my own food stuff in my tiny garden - particularly salad, veg and fruit.
    • Meal plan and grocery shopping challenges are a must. This will be really hard for me but vital if I am to stick to the above challenges!!
Phew, looks like I have got my work cut out - also need to lose a couple of stone, but that is going to be harder than all of the above :rotfl:

Hypno your challenges for next year look brilliant and I am tempted at quite a few of those myself.

The free christmas challenge sounds brilliant to me. Every year I say I will be more organised and get stuff throughout the year but I don't.
