Sounds like a plan - count me in and count my money at the end of the year!!!!!

    :T
  • Hi I love a challenge, but with 2 rather large debts, unable to clear either by April, I know I'd fail before I even started.
I'm going to carry on with the £2 coins, but pay off my debt every time they get to £50.
I don't know what half the challenges that are on here are, as have been mostly concentrating on reading dfw diaries or comping, but hope to be able to clear lowest card by July, so that will be my challenge.( & it will be very challenging! )
Comping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

Married my best friend 15/4/16 :)

So far I have had a bowling evening which helped me raise £100, am planning a treasure hunt around easter time and a car boot sale early next year. I also holding a walking group whereby my friends and family come out on the weekend for a walk and give a small donation (that has worked well) hoping to do a quiz night too. Will definately do another bowling evening as it was fun and easy to arrange!

Thats kind of why I havent done so well in the last olympic challenge, as I have been concentrating on this and also some of the ways I raised the money for the challenge ie the car boot sale I havent done as Im saving everything up for a big one next year to raise money for the charity!
finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!

Anyone see The Compact group on yahoo.com? Basically 12 friends decided that they wouldn't buy ANYTHING new for a whole year, apart from groceries and e.g. medical essentials. It made them think if they really needed items. I tried this at the beginning of 2007, and it's really hard, but it does save you money! I failed part way through but am going to try it again. Anyone else want to think about it?

BTW: you can buy from second hand shops, or borrow items!

Oh - just read bonar's moving house. Ouch - that always makes me want new things!
  • I am for any challenge! I love puttting them in my sig and updating my totals.

I do the £2 savers and make £1000 by dec 20th. I only joined in august so was too late for these olympic challenges. However, will certainly join in anything people want to start up.

I have joined the clear a debt by april challenge, have pledged to clear £1000 of my A&L loan.

To any newbies who haven't got into challenges yet, they are such a fantastic way to save, I never beleived I could do anything till I got involved. Before MSE I couldn't save any money, but now check out my sig for the £500 by xmas total - never in a million years did I think I could achieve that.
    Total debt £21,000

  • I love reading about the £5/£10 extra a day challenge threads.

Next year I am aiming to make £5 extra every day for the entire 366 days (I think it's a leap year)...this is to help me achieve my DFD in 2009, or maybe bring it forward.

  • A few people were planning on doing a "Free Christmas 2008" challenge, basically by putting aside money and vouchers from daily clicks, survey sites etc and loking for bargains such as 3 for 2 etc

A board for it hasn't been set up yet though
